Feature:
Its like 2 synths in one, but the hybrid mode is like another synth on top. Its allows you to blend the Prophet 5 with the Prophet VS digital sounds. You basically end up with new sounds, and sound that are impossible to creat otherwise.
Quality:
Superb!!! The graphics are crystal clear and very live like. Im sure it affects more cpu though. The sound quality is out of this world. Its the warmest software sound i have ever heard. I also own many hardware synths like the SE-1X, Andromeda, poly evolver, Motif, Triton. The Prophet V has upto 32 voice unlike the hardware 5. Its also has some out of tune patches, which emulates the original like for like. I have heard the orginal many times and have played a few times back in 1988.
Value:
This soft synth is worth every penny.
Desirability:
Very lust. The graphics are crisp, and look just like a virtual Prophet 5. Very neat interface.
Sound:
Simply the best analogue software model. It sounds warm and lush, and it has that Prophet sound. Its twangs just like the real thing, espeically on pad sounds. The resonance filter is beautiful, no artifacts like other software. I also own the NI Pro53 and compared to that, the Prophet V is simply leaps ahead. It sounds like a real peice of analogue hardware. The presets are decent, but its when you programme your own sounds, that the interface shines.
Ease of Use:
the manaul is chunky, and it details well, but i just dived straight in and almost learnt it in a day. Its pretty simple interface, but has a lot up it sleave.
Support:
Not too sure, but i have emailed them, and got a reply 2 days later. Seems OK.
Overall:
The best soft synth...period.
