Feature:
The image quality on the screen is very good.
Docking station, video cables and charger are all extras.
Ease of Use:
Unit is a bit heavy for shirt pocket use. Nested on-screen menus could be more user friendly.
Quality:
The screen scratches very easily. The black case shows marks too. Disk drive is noisy at times. My iPod stopped unexpectedly and had to be completely reset.
Battery life when playing videos appears to be short.

Sound:
The iPod's sound output is excellent in its class. Using a Dell DJ, with included headphones for comparison, The iPod using 320kb/s sounds fuller, has greater presence, and exhibits less distortion(hiss) than the Dell at the same bit rate. This product delivers sound that is comparable to a stereo receiver in the same price range, in reference to clarity of output through the line out in the dock. The product in fact sounds better with Bose Quiet Comfort 2 headphones than through my denon avr 2805 integrated amplifier. for headphone listening it is as good as using any set to up to the $1000 price range in my humble opinion. (less circuitry to mess with the output)
Feature:
The iPod came with the dock, Wall adapter, both firewire and USB 2 dock cables, earbuds, and of course the iPod itself along with warranty info and the users guide. The most useful feature is the line out on the dock, followed closely by the 32 pin multipurpose plug on the bottom of the device, which allows you to shack up to hundreds of different accessories from voice recorders, to radio transmitters, to flash card readers, battery packs, and other types of devices. The least useful feature for me is the address book, because i use my Treo 600 for that, but it is a neat feature that other players lack (when you hear people saying the iPod has an inferior feature set, they are either talking out of their butts or are being paid to write a positive review of another product)
Quality:
the finish is top notch, the little beast is solid, i wouldn't recommend dropping it, but it is rated to fall at the standard 1m height just like everything else in its class, however there aren't any protruding parts, there are no screws used in assembly, and the seams are effectively water tight, although the dock plug would short if you dipped it in water, however it can and has survive midwestern thunderstorms unprotected, while the shoddy craftsmanship on the likes of the creative and dell players is shocking, the fit and finish of the iPod simply cannot be compared to any consumer electronics devices, it is comparable to where Sony's high end minidisk players have been for years
Value:
you get what you pay for, style and easy of use and the widest included feature set of any player, it may not have an fm transmitter (why you would want to use that horrible sounding radio, i do not know, but you can buy 5 or six add ons for around 30 bucks) it also has no voice recorder, but again why would you want to record at such low quality (the dell player does just 16kb/s) and not even be able to offload it from the player, when you can get plug and play device for the iPod that records at higher quality and can be offloaded. The iPod does have an alarm clock, a full function calendar, and an address book, it also has games including the famous iPod solitaire, it also stores files without partitioning, and has fully customizable on-the-go playlists, plays more formats than it's competitors, dell plays 3or4, creative plays 3 sony plays between 1 and three 3(model dependancy), iPod plays MP3, WAV, AIFF, AAC, Apple loss less, and Audible, and will support more as apple sees fit, a hacker could even add WMA support (although that format is proven to be of inferior quality to MP3 and AAC even at higher bit rates)
Manufacturer Support:
I haven't had to use the support, because these things don't tend to break, it will either start out bad (very few, but the ones that do have very loud and annoying owners who make the quality control seem much worse than it is) or last until the battery bites the dust, which is a $99 part installed by apple, and a $30-50 part if you are willing to install yourself. (just a note, i have yet to see a competitor offer a similar replacement program for when their batteries run out to, because there does not exist a lithium ion/polymer bater that lasts more than 5-600 charges)
The Wow Factor:
the iPod is the sexiest HDD music player on the market, it is a piece of minimalist art, it has squeaky clean lines, and the stark white-on-polished metal exterior that is peer to no peice of technology with the possible exception of magnepan MG 20.1 speakers
Overall:
i will be satisfied until the fifth generation iPod comes out, it is clearly the best in its class of product in both form and function ad has been for the last 3 and a half years, and will continue to be for a long time to come
Sound:
This machine is simply amazing. I bought a 15 GB model and it is beautiful. The sound quality is awesome because it uses a rare magnet that recieves sound better than any other metal used in regular head/earphones. The touch sensitivity is awesome as well. Although it might get annoying if you hit it accidentally and turns on, it's still quite cool. The best I have to say is it's memory. 3700 songs-10000 is just nuts, but it's nuts in a good way. I have a lot of music and i plan to put it on iPod. The price is a bit hefty but it's worth the amount of money.
Quality:
Apple gives you the best no matter what. What you see is what you get. No inside or hidden deals or concealed defects of the machine and the quality is just super. Nothing can really go wrong with apple.
Value:
This product has a hafty price tag on it, but it's really worth the buy. There are other products that have the same number of memoryh on it, but the quality does not compare to iPod.
Manufacturer Support:
It was kind of difficult to talk to them because I had to wait quite a while and when I got on, I asked them a question another department is supposed to answer, so i had to wait again. But when they did answer me, the service was good. They were patient and kind. No hesitation whatsoever.
The Wow Factor:
The highest leading Industrial designers made the design for this machine and the machine is very sexy. It's smooth and glossy. Not to mention ergonomic to correspond perfectly with the human body. The iPod has much sex appeal and attracts a wide crowd.
Overall:
The Apple iPod is the best there is. This is definitely the stop of all multimedia players and anyone who has enough money for it, should buy it.
