THis amp has a great sound for it's size. the 50 watts is more than loud enough for my garrage band or practice sessions. The low end is great and the full sound of the amp is great considdering it's only 40 lbs. There is a tiny bit of hiss when the trebble is high, but it isn't enough to bother me. overall a great sounding amp.

This is the perfect practice amp...it delivers a bright clean sound that won't disturb & if you want to crank it up...it's there! With ToneWorks (Korg) PX3B (Pandora's Bass Box), I get the most out of multi effects and/or w/cd input, to play along with any mp3's I've downloaded. Ampeg rocks! This is a must for any practicing bass man. Peace Out
"Perfect sized amp with good sound and power"
The tonal controls on the BA112 are very simple, but you don't need tons of fancy controls to get a good sound out of this amp. The 5-way tone control plus the 3-band EQ provides more than enough flexibility when it comes to tone. I use it for small gigs and I especially like the size because it is not cumbersome to lug around. For its size, it produces a nice rich tone and a loud sound.

I own this amp and have had it for over 3 months already. I've used it for several gigs and it has delivered the sound and power that I need and more. This 50watt combo amp is strong enough where I don't have to crank the volume all the way up to be heard at small gigs. If I did need more volume, then I would just mic my amp to deliver the Ampeg sound into the sound system. The kickback function is very handy and the 5-way tone control provides more than enough play, you can quickly adjust for slapping and popping or just smooth, deep bass lines. I tried other amps in the similar price range such as Crate and Fender, but Ampeg just blew these competitors away.

I love the sound on this amp. It has no buzzing sound. With my Fender American Jazz Bass, it sounds great. I use it at school for Jazz band, just thinks about it makes me cream. Ok...its sweet!
