Imagine if you could have an amp with a real vintage sound, but without all the weight and awkwardness of some of the older amps. The Ampeg B100R is just that. It gives you all the vintage sound you can handle with a single 15 in. driver, and Blue Diamond covering gives it the vintage look. But with solid-state design the weight is lower. Learn More...

8 out of 10Feature:
It has all the "features" one could need....(altho a compressor might be nice sometimes in recording situations.)it has all the bells and whistles(or lack of) that I need to perform.
Quality:
Like I said its an Ampeg. built tough,rugged....mean like a junk-yard dog....mine was used and had a few "battle scars" but nevertheless kept true to its personality and performed exellent when ever called upon.
Value:
its a bit pricey but overall darn well worth it....you certainly get what you pay for..
Desirability:
Ah yes the blue/green tolex covereing retro thing...... looks very...I mean very very cool!....like its name the Rocket bass its a tough mother......but dressed to kill..looks good under harsh lighting too!
Sound:
This little guy is basically a tank wrapped in a shark-skin suit that can bellow out with the best of them, whether it be indoors or out.No frills on this amp !! just pure power and sound if you play jazz rock blues country or funk the settings on this amp can set up very easily to your liking. It has that"Ampeg sound" to it and for those of you that play bass thru an ampeg?. you know what I mean.Exellent lows...nice mids and funky highs..be sure you play with it until you get your sound and make certain the gainlight is in its green color. You'll be very happy.
Ease of Use:
very very simple........just make certain that you play with it first...test it see which settings you like with the 3 presets and the 3 settings. The manual on this amp is LESS THAN 1 PAGE LONG !! and pretty much tells you what you need to know in plain english.
Support:
Appearantly,Ampeg has sold its parts area to Loud Tecnologies out of Washington state.I needed a "stove knob" for the gain and I simplycalled Loud placed the order(cost me .64) and it arrived, late but it did arrive.
Overall:
I need no other back up......period...this amp does meet my musical goals as a bass player and then some...If I lost this amp?.. I'd buy another for sure....it does weigh 65 LBS. soooo its a little beefy but not nearly as bad as some other bass amps I've played thru(including some of Ampegs other great amps)try it.....you'll like it !

8 out of 10Feature:
The only features are three presets and line out. No extra fluff. No XLR out... just four tone controls with gain and master volume.
Quality:
Thing is built like a tank...I invested in a Tuki cover for it and after 2 years it still looks new. Did have clumsy roady drop it off stage and bent caster but that was not amps fault...that is total breakage for over two years worth of almost nightly use (15-20 shows a month average)
Value:
It is a little pricey for a 100 watt amp but you get what you pay for.
Desirability:
Amp is sexy..period....everyone who sees it falls in love with the little sucker
Sound:
Sound much like early B15's Easy to vary tone from one style of music to another. If you need more power go to a stack. Amp is made for small to medium club scene.
Ease of Use:
Amp is so easy to use it is rediculous...If you know what you want to hear. Presets are good easy to vary tone to suit situation.
Support:
Have not needed support...so far
Overall:
I am very satisfied with this amp and would probably replace it with another just like it..Heard SLM sold out to LOUD music....some concern over quality from new company. I have David Eden CXC 210 and have sold all other bass amps.

9 out of 10Feature:
No accessories included, but what is there really helps, if u adjust the gain to master volume properly, it helps it sound extremely well.
Quality:
Just picking it up i said, wow this is awesome. It looks really cool too, the tolex is just sweet. I don't need a back up with this, it would sit around and collect dust forever
Value:
It is perfectly priced for what features you get. it is wonderful, and i am sure that i will not have anyproblems with it.
Desirability:
From the time i pluged in, i was hooked, there was no way i was going home without this amp.
Sound:
IT has amazing sound, it makes my bass sound much better than the old crate i was using. Everyone was like wow in the room when i fired it up to play. It has great use for the music i play, such as Rock, sometimes funk solos, it is perfect.
Support:
i haven't had to talk with them, the unit works perfect, no problems ever.
Overall:
I don't have anyplans to get anything new, but i will say this, when/ if i get a new amp, i will be purhcasing from ampeg again.
