i bought this guitar after returning a blemished instrment, and i'm so glad i did,its much better than my first choice.
Sound
this guitar produces a bright attack and responds well to different picking techniques.and where you strum makes a difference, close to the neck for a warmer tone, and closer to the bridge for a more treble/jangle tone.
Features
solid spruce top sounds and looks beautiful,on board tuner is very convienient ,as is the knobs for adjusting the tone once its plugged in.
Ease of Use
i usually play electric, the guitar came set up pretty good.action seems higher than an electric, but still nice to play.
Quality
quality is well made hand crafted, professional instrument.seems very solid so far.
Value
worth is above the 429 mark.its compairable to a 800-900 instrument.
Manufacturer Support

The Wow Factor
the woodwork is absolutely beautiful.nice light colored sitka spruce, tight grained.and the mahogany on this guitar is a stunning"rose colored mahogany"used to make high end products.the balance of mahogany and spruce is the best imo.and improves with playing time.

"Beautiful Alvarez sound as always!"

The finish is actually a little darker that shown in the picture, but this beauty comes well equipped whether you're planning on recording, playing in general, or even gigs. I originally bought it because of the cut away so I could play a lot of Breaking Benjamin and convert their tabs from D to their C tuning he now uses for all his shows if you watch him live. It plays like a dream and the guy from Our Hour who plays with him actually plays an Alvarez so imagine that. So far I have no quarrels with this cut away and I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to play a little lower :)

Musical Background:

I have another Alvarez, a CArlo Robllli, Brownsville acoustic wise and a SG goth series epiphone and an Ibanez.

Musical Style:

I play everything from Tracy Chapman to Sodom. Mostly 90's you know the bar favorites :P

Wonderful guitar for the money. I'm a finger-pick style casual player, and this rig exceeds my expectations. It looks, plays, and sounds like I spent twice as much.
