I really like the DM10X Mesh kit, as this is the second DM10 I've gotten from zZounds. The 1st one was the DM10 studio kit, then I wanted to upgrade. The only thing I would like to see is the payment plan be more workable for the customer, as the payments were just too much for the 4 months. I wouldn't have been able to afford anything else, other than that I HIGHLY RECOMMEND zZOUNDS FOR YOUR PURCHASE. The customer service is VERY GOOD and they REALLY DO TRY TO HELP. When I can afford the payments I know that I WILL BUY THE DM10X FROM YOU PEOPLE

Now as I write this review, I reflect on receiving this Alesis DM10X Mesh electroic drum set. First things first, it comes in a huge box that weighs 97 pounds, get help to carry it. It also has a picture of the drum kit on the box, so if you are trying to hide it from you wife, good luck. Set up is pretty straight forward, follow the number pictures a 6 year old could understand. Once up and running and going through guide , it is amazing what you can do with this kit. The mesh heads are the way to go, they feel better and are quieter than pads. The cymbals sounds are fairly good representations but do have their moments when you really miss the real ones. The drum heads and rims can be assigned other sounds giving you two per drum, now that is pretty awesome. Overall you would be hard pressed to find something comparable at this price-point out on market. Buy one, play one, more than likely you would be impressed, I was.

I've had this drum set for about a month now. I use to be very biased towards electronic drum manufactures other than Roland. But let me tell you, this kit is one to rival! It takes a little bit to dial it in to your playing style, but if you take the time to understand the module, as well apply it to your playing, it will open up a traversed path that only Roland's expensive price tag would allow in the past. I can't stop playing it! In the last month I've played well over 40 hours on this kit! The pads show little wear, more so on the kick drum, which I would recommend making sure you check the tension before playing each time as it seemed to loosen up on me which made for it wearing out a little faster. But over-all the pads are holding up excellent, and feel great! When playing along to drumless backing tracks, or songs, It sounds as good as the studio drums! I would absolutely recommend this kit to anyone who is looking for a nice electronic kit, without the cheap electronic sounds that you would normally get for the money. The only downside to these Alesis kits are the hi-hats, in my opinion. I purchased the Pro Hi-Hat controller, and was not impressed. But that's another review. As far as the regular hi-hat goes, it's a lot better than the pro hi hat controller. I only wish that Alesis would make a better hi hat controller for their drums. But for the money, everything else is there!
