Sound
I had a chance to compare the AKG Q701 with the Sennheiser HD 380 Pros, and Bose TriPort Headphones QCZ Silver. I also compared these with my Yamaha HS80M refernce monitor speakers. The Q701's were by far the most accurate with a flat reference level and detail. I had been mixing and composing on the Bose Tri-Port headphones for years, and Im sad to say that I just discovered that it was quality I was making was all wrong and inaccurate levels of what sounds right.
Features
Only reason I rated it as a nine was because their is not a carrying bag or case. It did come with two cables though! (10ft, and 20ft)
Ease of Use
Just plug it in! Make sure your audio hardware can power this though! My Mbox Mini has just enough juice for it.
Quality
Very Sturdy, Rugged, feels and looks well put together. The quality of the materials and excellent.
Value
These headphones are pricey... but they are worth every penny if you want to take your music to the next level.

These headphones look great. Very durable and well made. Should last a long time as long as you don't abuse them too much. The sound is well balanced and clear. Bass, mids and treble is true, clear and not exaggerated. Best for classical and acoustic music. World class sound but kinda quiet. Not loud headphones. The sound source has to be high quality to really hear the clarity and realism. For example, mp3's should be at least 192kbps or more not 128kbps.Comfortable around ears and head. Price is kinda high if you're paying $399, but have seen it much cheaper elsewhere, but not with the 4 payment plan of course. The sound quality difference with other headphones that cost much less is subtle and may not be worth the extra money unless you have really good sharp ears.
