Feature:
The mic comes in a very very neat carry case with a very nice shockmount, high quality and all u need.
Quality:
Among all the cheaper made in china condensers, and yeah there are alot of them this one is the most solid built mic i handled.
its tough, the shockmount is tough no cheap piece of crap.
Value:
Keeping the price in mind, its an amazing value for money.
Very versatily and good sounding mic.
But dont forget even though many makes out there can be "better" or whatever, its about your own skill.
Proper mic positioning can be much more worthwhile then buying more expensive mics.
Even a neumann or shoeps will sound crap placed wrong.
Too often do i see amateurs buying exp mics without the proper knowledge.
Desirability:
For this money after testing it, couldnt afford not to buy it.
Sound:
I have used this mic alongside many other well known brands of mics in and around the same budget catagory.
I found the akg to have a more neutral and clear sound with just that bit of top sparkle and detail that for example the rode's all mis in my expierence.
Sounds great when used in omno, no proximity effect.
But when due to circumstances u cant go omni, take cardiod and put op the high pass.
using the -10db pad makes this a usefull mic even for a jazz kick drum, picks up great definition.
much better then the usual D112 or shure beta 52. more detail and transient response.
But dont forget, know how to place and position your mic.
Proper positioning and knowledge of acoustics is worth more then getting a exp mic.
The right position is a bigger difference then a wrong placed high end mic.
Ease of Use:
Its just a mic, very usefull like i said for much more areas then just vocal in a studio enviroment.
Support:
not used.
Overall:
I will be satisfied with this for as long as it will work.
In due time when i can i might upgrade to the famous workhorse the 414.
