Feature:
Multiple patterns, windscreen and shockmount: not much else to ask for.

Value:
Spend 2-3k on a similar solid state, or buy this? I don't think you need to even think about it. This is an amazing mic for vocals and you aren't spending 2k on a high-end Neumann or a C12.

Sound:
For Vocals this thing is incredible. It is so present it is ridiculous. Very usable for guitars and high frequency instruments (horns, strings, etc.).

Overall:
This is really just a solid mic. It isn't a neutral mic, however. It is bright and alive, not flat and plain. It's multiple patterns are very useful and it sounds great on any lead type instrument.

I've owned this mic for 5 years, and have used it for every facit of recording. "NEVER" once have I been disappointed. The sound reproduction is remarkable. As a poor home recording guy I can't afford an expensive mic, but I've found I don't need one because I've got my "AKG".

I've been searching for an affordable mic with that million dollar sound .I have no regrets in choosing the AKG C414 B TLII, vocals and guitars are my main concern and they sound Great now !Hope you check it out for yourself .
