I love it. The pads are super sensitive. I love the addition of the pitch & mod wheels, and the keys feel great.

First off let me start by saying this keyboard is huge!!! I didn't expect this sucker to be as big as it is!!! Wow!!The picture does not do it any justice. This is officially that fastest order I have ever received. I placed my order yesterday morning and got it today. It doesn't get any better than that!! I mean seriously that is amazingly fast. I highly recommend this keyboard. It's quite a step up from the mpk mini. My only complaint is with AKAI! They need to upgrade the software that comes with thier stuff. They could /should do better. It's pretty much the same old stuff from 5 years ago, maybe even longer. Its the same exact software from 2 midi's ago, to be precise!!! Give us something we're going to actually use, something new, something worth bragging about to our peoples! I know I can't be the only one who feels this way. Dont get me wrong I absolutely love akai, but they can do better with thier user manuals, and extras. I'm just giving my full blown HONEST opinion here. Its cool they feature a lite version of abelton, but the lite version is still severly limited. Same with mpc essentials. Maybe its designed to be that way because you'll spend more money idk. I'd like to think not but who knows. The work flow of mpc essentials is absolutely dreadful and it can discourage you. Especially if you're new to music production. Which I'm not by any means, I just mean for the complete beginner. You're better off not even messing with the software it comes with, and just getting your own daw and learning it. You will spend just as much time learning mpc essentials as you would a daw. Except a daw is for full on production. Mpc essentials is for making beats. That's cool if that's all you wanna do, but I feel like most of us wanna make more than just beats. Beats are a dime a dozen. You're not gonna make a beat that hasn't been done or heard before to some degree. Its the music you make that makes you stand out, sure the beat helps, but its the tune and overall sound that captures and captivates the listener. Use your time wisely. I wish someone would've told me that about 6 years ago with the whole mpc bit. Maybe offer some better instructions too. They literally give you the most basic instructions on thier products. Whats up with that. Its a tad frustrating. If it weren't for YouTube most of us would be screwed and have to learn it on our own. I dont expect a free daw or nothing super major on the extras, as theyre EXTRAS, but they could ante up a bit. Anyways, MAN I love zZounds!!! This is the ONLY place I will buy my gear. They always have everything I need, and they always deliver with top notch goods. They have amazing customer service as well. If you're looking for a new keyboard you can't go wrong with the mpk 249. ESPECIALLY if you're upgrading from a mini or something on the small side like that. Get ready to be blown away at the quality, size and design of this bad boy. It is well worth the money.
