Don't be fooled by its traditional exterior. The Epiphone Les Paul Ultra III is a technological powerhouse that combines the classic vibe of a Les Paul with an array of modern features. Now in its third generation, the Ultra series represents Epiphone's efforts to bring the latest in guitar technology to an iconic instrument with expanded tonal options and intuitive controls.
The Epiphone Les Paul Ultra III comes with a pair of premium Epiphone ProBucker pickups. Modeled after Gibson's BurstBucker pickup, the ProBucker offers a healthy dose of warm, classic tone. Much like P.A.F. humbuckers, ProBuckers employ varying degrees of winding to deliver a unique sound that is clear and articulate, yet slightly edgy with a bite.
In addition to dual ProBuckers, the Ultra III features a Shadow NanoMag humbucking low-impedance pickup. Installed at the end of the fingerboard, this special pickup captures the guitar's body acoustics and string harmonics, greatly expanding the Ultra III's sonic palette. On the back of the Ultra III, you'll find the control panel for the Shadow NanoMag pickup, where you can shape the NanoMag's tone with a 2-band EQ. Here, you can adjust the amount of signal introduced into the output path. The NanoMag volume knob on the front of the guitar doubles as a push-pot A/B switch, toggling between ProBuckers, NanoMag, or a mix of both.
The Ultra III has a integrated tuner built directly into the bridge pickup's mounting ring. Simply look down while you are holding your Ultra III, and a fully functional chromatic tuner is in plain sight, with 11 LEDs displaying note and pitch info. Like other in-line tuners, this integrated tuner mutes your output while you tune, so it's easy to tune up, turn up, and rock out.

Thanks to its dual 1/4" ouputs, the Ultra III can route your signal in ways most guitars can't. Plug in with the standard 1/4" mono jack to mix your ProBucker and NanoMag outputs into a single signal -- or plug a second cable into the stereo out to split your ProBucker and NanoMag signals. For example, you can route your humbucker signal into your main guitar amp, while sending the Nano's signal into a PA or a second amp. Now the pickup-switching NanoMag push-pot on the front of the guitar functions as an amp switcher -- putting full control of your live rig at your fingertips.

Connect the Ultra III directly to your computer with the included USB cable to record directly into your favorite DAW -- no audio interface required. Plus, a free download of Native Instruments Guitar Rig 4 LE is included. With Guitar Rig software, you can play through variety of digitally modeled amps, effects, and speaker emulations, all while monitoring through your computer speakers or headphones.
