Description
Docs, Multimedia
This stereo, 75-watt per side, 2x12 in. combo is the bigger brother of the AVT150 combo. It boasts the same 4 channels and 2 DFX Sections of the AVT150, but the stereo 2x12 in. format allows the onboard DFX to add an incredibly rich, stereo dimension to your sound.

Additionally, the left and right speaker outputs could be used to drive extension cabinets. Also Headphones (where turning the Master Volume right down will provide silent practice), Left and Right Speaker Emulated outputs (where turning the Master Volume off provides silent recording), and stereo returns for the Effects Loop complete the line up for this incredibly flexible AVT combo. The AVT275 features Stereo Digital FX.

What is AVT
In Marshall's quest to give players the ultimate tone at a realistic price, they have combined the latest innovations in valve, solid state, and digital technologies to achieve optimum sonic performance. AVT has evolved from their original, critically acclaimed Marshall Valvestate technology, but is vastly improved so it emulates the tone, feel, and response of their world-renowned, all-valve amplifiers with unerring accuracyá without using valves in the power stage.

Marshall's long history and experience in the field of valve amplification was utilized in the development of the new AVT power amp. This extremely responsive and warm sounding circuitry was then coupled with the specially voiced, ECC83 (a.k.a 12AX7) valve-driven pre-amp section, to provide 100% valve/analog warmth from input to output. Combined with numerous user-friendly features, they believe we've created the best value-for-money range of Marshall amplifiers ever!

Valve Drive Pre-Amp
From the compact AVT20, right up to the thunderous roar of the feature packed, 4-channel AVT150H, each model in their brand new AVT line boasts a pre-amp stage that is driven by an ECC83 Dual Triode valve. Unlike certain other hybrid amps out there, this valve isn't merely acting as a pilot light. Instead, it is playing the central role in the gain, distortion and tone generating circuitry. They have gone to great lengths to ensure that this precious device delivers maximum sonic benefit at all settings and volume levels. The resulting clean sounds ring with the bell-like harmonics that only a valve pre-amp can deliver and the break-up is never harsh or unnatural sounding. Whenever you select an AVT Overdrive channel, the ECC83 is saturated to its limit, providing dynamics and feel worthy of a place in the Marshall hall of fame.

Power Amp Delivery
The same, unrivalled design expertise that went into the pre-amp was also channeled into the design of the AVT power stage. Using frequency dependent power amp damping and their proprietary, dynamic clip level technology (which emulates the HT supply of a valve power amp), each AVT power stage creates the warm, musical feel and 3-dimensional sounds that made Marshall's all-valve power amps world-renowned. Also, all AVT products will deliver the goods in the often hostile and unpredictable environment of the live performance stage - which is why the AVT power amps of 50 watts and up are fan cooled for optimum reliability.

DFX Onboard
The AVT100, AVT150, AVT150H, and AVT275 all have onboard DFX (Digital Effects). Here the greatest care was taken to ensure that the highest level of signal integrity was maintained at all times. They achieved this by successfully integrating DFX into the tonal topology of AVT without adding any of the nasty-sounding, artificial "grain" often associated with DFX. To make the 16 custom-voiced DFX as controllable and user-friendly as possible the relevant models are all supplied with an LED equipped foot controller which allows you to switch the amp's DFX on and off, as well as change channels.

The flexibility of the AVT150, AVT150H, and AVT275 is further enhanced by having 2 DFX sections, 1 for the Clean and Acoustic Simulator channels, and the other for the 2 Overdrive channels.

Extended Response Loudspeakers
Knowing the importance of the relationship between power amplifiers and loudspeakers, Marshall have worked extremely closely with Celestion to develop a range of speakers that will re-define the cutting edge in rock guitar reproduction. These speakers allow the compact, closed back cabinets used in the Valvestate 2000 AVT range to maintain the bottom end delivery normally associated only with a full 4x12 extension cabinet set-up.

"Just a great amp."
Feature:
This is why unless you're touring, there's no sense going for a MEsa triple rectified head. The AVT has great features; four foot switchable channels, scoop switch, bright switch and great built in delay. There's a lot of built in reverb which is great but to me the built in effects are all about the great delay. I'm turning in my Boss digital delay pedal. Its useless now. Also, the emulated line outs are great for stereo recording to your PC. Headphone jack for silent practice is aweosme too. To get these features at the price is great.

Quality:
Give me abreak. This thing is a tank.

Value:
Again, no other way to get the tube sound with features for this price.

Desirability:
Great looking amp. From someone that grew up watching Judas Priest and their wall of Marshalls, its kind of cool to look over at it and see the gold Marshall plate staring back at me.

Sound:
All four channels are excellent. The OD-2 really rocks. With the scoop switch engaged you can really get a nice metal rhythm sound going. For leads I use the OD-2 channel without the scoop switch and use a boss cs-2 compressor/sustainer and the tone is great. I would defy anyone to close their eyes and tell me an all tube amp is better sounding than this. Great amp. I will say that at very high volumes I'm hearing a little muddiness on the rhythm but I just haven't tweaked it yet. Anytime I've been unhappy with the sound it was easily changed by tweaking the knobs.

Support:
No rating. Haven't had to deal with anyone

Overall:
I will have this amp for a long time. Again, Mesa is great. And tubes are great when they are in both stages, pre and power, but this amp does a great job of mimicing that with just the tube in the one stage. And unless you're on tour, you don't need anything other than this Marhsall. You can play it silently with headphones. you can play it at low volume in your bedroom or you can gig with it.

"Tremendous "Bang for the Buck""
I love this amp! I auditioned a lot of other amps before buying this one. I especially love the TONE and the effects. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't get great tone from an AVT, because you can. In my opinion, the clean tone from this amp is better than their tube amps. Plus, you can get great high-gain and distortion sounds without deafening yourself and everyone around you. A GREAT club amp! I highly recommend it!
