Graded, Weighted Hammer-Action Keys

In designing this piano, Yamaha wanted to make sure that the keys and the grand piano tone felt and sounded as close to that of an acoustic piano as possible. Sink your fingers into its Graded Hammer Standard (GHS) action keybed, which features matte black keys and a comfortable touch. Just like on an acoustic piano, the P-35's GHS keys are heavier in the low end and lighter in the high end, for a realistic, responsive playing experience.

Fine Features for Practicing, Performing, and Learning

Four kinds of built-in reverb allow you to place your performance in a variety of rooms, while keyboard split and layer modes let you get creative with your playing. Duo mode splits the keyboard into two halves, each with its own middle C -- the perfect feature for group lessons and playing duets. "Chopsticks," anyone?

Grand Piano Button for Instant Grand Piano Sound

The "Grand Piano" button makes read more the P-35 easy to use for beginners of all ages. When you're done exploring the instrument's 10 different sounds and effects, you can get back to Yamaha's rich grand piano sound simply by hitting the Grand Piano button. One touch is all it takes to cancel out any changes you made to the original grand piano sound, made possible with Yamaha's Advanced Wave Memory (AWM) sampling technology. AWM lends the P-35 a deep, spacious, realistic tone that changes in volume and timbre depending on how you play.

This is a nice easy to use piano that has some interesting voices. If you study the handbook manual, you'll find it has potential. The voices are warm and sometimes expressive. There is also room for tehnical additions. It is MIDI acessible and there is room for more hardware connections. I bought it.
