At under 27 pounds, this 88-note weighted-action piano delivers Yamaha's PureCF grand piano sound, splits, built-in drum patterns, a song recorder, and more.

With the Yamaha P-105, you get the convenience and portability of a digital keyboard, combined with the feel of an acoustic piano. With the P-105's digital performance and practice tools, true grand piano sound triggered by 88 realistic-feeling weighted keys, and easy-to-transport design, this digital piano is an exceptional choice for any player in need of a compact practice instrument.

Realistic Keyboard Plus Realistic Piano Sound

Designed to respond like the keys of an acoustic piano, the P-105 has an 88-note, Graded Hammer Standard (GHS) weighted action keyboard that feels heavier in the low end and lighter on the top. Its PureCF sound engine recreates the sound of Yamaha's renowned CFIIIS concert grand piano, giving players the chance to imagine their performance on a real concert grand.

Electric Pianos, Organs and More

In addition to two Yamaha piano sounds, the P-105 also gives you a well-curated selection of additional voices: four electric pianos (Rhodes and Wurli), jazz organ, rock organ, pipe organ, vibraphone, harpsichord, strings, wood bass, and electric bass. Split and layer sounds and assign them to your right and left hands any which way. Thanks to its increased 128-note polyphony, this digital piano will ensure no notes are dropped, even when you have Dual and Split modes and a drum pattern going on all at once.

Built-In Speakers with Intelligent Acoustic Control

The P-105 has built-in speakers, so it's ready to be played out load right out of the read more box -- or in your headphones to practice in silence. Since the P-105 offers Intelligent Acoustic Control, you won't have to think about messing with EQ during a performance; Intelligent Acoustic Control provides full, balanced sound that adapts to your volume setting, enabling you to get optimal tone at any level.

MIDI over USB

Use the USB to Host port and line-level Aux outputs to connect your P-105 piano to a variety of external gear, such as an amplifier, laptop, or iPad. If you have an Apple Camera Connection Kit (not included with the P-105), you can tap in to the learning tools available from various Yamaha apps, and really make the most of your practice time.

Vary Your Performance with Built-In Styles and Rhythms

When you need a break from etudes and serious practice, check out the instrument's built-in rhythms and styles. Ten pianist styles are available, letting the P-105 play along with you, duet-style, in one of ten different playing varieties such as boogie woogie, stride piano, or ballad arpeggios. Its rhythm section offers ten versatile drum patterns, giving your ear a welcome alternative to the traditional metronome click or chime that most digital pianos usually have.

Great for Group Practice, Too

Educators on a limited budget will find this Yamaha digital piano to be super-helpful in the classroom, as it offers Duo mode -- a handy feature that allows the P-105 to accommodate two students per piano, each with their own middle C. Side-by-side piano practice means that more students get to follow along with a lesson, rather than sit and wait for an available piano. Students can even track their progress using the built-in song recorder.

Yamaha P 105 Digital Piano

The Yamaha P-105 delivers core piano features for virtually any level of musician. A compact, portable digital piano featuring the legendary Yamaha piano touch and tone, the P-105 is an ideal practice instrument for the beginner to intermediate pianist as well as for the price-conscious semi-professional.

The Yamaha P-105 has an 88-note, Graded Hammer Standard (GHS) weighted action keyboard that feels heavier in the low end and lighter in the top, just like the keys of an acoustic piano. It also features the PureCF sound engine that recreates the sound of Yamaha's famous CFIIIS concert grand piano.

The versatile USB TO HOST port and line-level AUX outputs allow a variety of connectivity options with everything from an amplifier to an iPad. Additionally, with the optional Apple Camera Connection Kit, the world of Yamaha Apps like Piano Diary and NoteStar opens up all sorts of possibilities. With its increased 128-note polyphony, the P-105 ensures the suppression of dropped notes even with simultaneous Dual & Split modes and a drum pattern playing. In the EQ department, Intelligent Acoustic Control provides full, balanced sound that adapts to each user's volume setting for the best possible tone at any level.

"In the past, features like PureCF sampling and Intelligent Acoustic Control were normally found only at much higher price points," said Dane Madsen, Yamaha Digital Piano Marketing Manager. "Beyond this, the P-105's line-level AUX out jacks that retain power to the built-in speakers make a pro-level feature affordable to more musicians than ever."

The P-105 also allows for side-by-side piano practice for two people using the Duo mode, a distinctive benefit that makes it ideal for schools teaching group lessons as it accommodates two students per piano, each with their own middle C.

Additional features include ten pianist styles that essentially give the user a built-in duet partner that plays along in one of ten different playing varieties like boogie woogie, stride piano, or ballad arpeggios. Furthermore, the built-in Rhythms offer ten versatile patterns as an alternative to the traditional metronome and this virtual drummer is always on time.

"The P-105 really does have something for everyone," said Yamaha Electronic Keyboard Product Manager Nate Tschetter. "Gigging musicians will appreciate having a portable, 88-note weighted action piano that weighs less than 27 pounds. They'll also like the excellent PureCF grand piano sound and the assignable Split feature. Aspiring piano students, on the other hand, can enjoy developing their sense of time by playing with the built-in drum patterns and tracking their progress using the song recorder.

NOTE: Power supply is included.

I previously owned a Yamaha MM6. I wanted to get a warmer and a realistic piano sound. This is a great digital piano and it sounds very close to a acoustic grand piano. I read so many reviews before buying this product and I can say this is a excellent digital piano. I have been playing for 15 years and this is my 5th digital Piano. So far this has been my best investment. I love the weighted keys although the action is less harder than a P155. For me this action is perfect and I find the action in P155 a little too hard. In fact, all the other sounds are incredible, the strings, bass, rock organ sound exactly like they are supposed to be. Overall, great product , I always have been using Yamaha products and will continue to do so.
