Designed in conjunction with acclaimed Nashville musician, Richie Owens, the Washburn R60BCE Resonator Guitar has unique features that set them apart from the majority of resonator guitars.

The R60BCE is a round neck, acoustic/electric resonator guitar with a venetian cutaway for easy upper fret access. The body is comprised of a maple top, back and sides for powerful lows and rich mids. The top features a unique F hole and pickguard and supports a custom proprietary cover-plate of Richie's design. It houses the spun aluminum cone and aluminum spider bridge for great sustain and a maple and ebony tipped top saddle for added crispness.

The maple neck is capped with a 20 fret rosewood fingerboard. String spacing, neck and nut width are wider than standard, 48mm at the nut, to facilitate fingerstyle playing and fast and precise slide work. The Wilkinson Deluxe tuners feature green buttons and have a 15:1 ratio for quick, accurate tuning.

At the heart of the R60BCE's electronics is a Lace Sensor pickup with one volume and 1 tone control. This pickup has great overall balance and clarity, capturing the true essence, versatility and soul of this unique instrument.

Richie Owens was brought up in a bluegrass family and began playing Dobro when he was just a boy. By the time he was in his teens, he was building and fixing his own instruments. Today, Richie designs, builds or repairs instruments for the likes of Nils Lofgren, Ron Wood and The Dixie Chicks. This is my third resonator guitar. The matte black finish is real nice. My friend thinks its the nicest guitar I own. The pickup was sloppily installed so ZZounds gave me $ 125.00 off. The pickup works and sounds great, though. The cone is very responsive and has a nice growl when played hard. I play open tuning for slide. The tone is warm and bright but with a nice low end, especially when tuned to open D. The tuners work and feel great. Plugged in to an amp and it sounds great. Tone and volume work and sound good. If you're deciding on which reso to get look no further unless you can spend over $2,000.00 on an American one. As is I'm not going to change anything. I may in the future upgrage the wiring and pots but I'm not touching the pickup as it was especially designed for Reso's, a feature No Reso has in this price range. This is my first Washburn Guitar and I'm proud to own it.
