Overview

Wampler has taken their popular Plexi-Drive Standard and added a few updates. The result is the Wampler Plexi-Drive Deluxe effects pedal. This pedal features a plexi drive circuit on the left side and a midrange boost circuit on the right. Active three-band EQ knobs boost and cut your bass, middle, and treble ranges with precision, and bass boost and bright boost switches add even more low or high end when you need it. This vibrant effects pedal is hand-built and features true-bypass circuitry.

Wampler has taken a whole host of popular sounds and forged them into a compact overdrive effects pedal. Anything from that unmistakable '70s classic rock sound, to country rock, late-'90s pop rock, pop punk, modern country, or even a slick bluesy Hendrix-styled output is right at your fingertips. Shaping Your Output

The "Pre Gain" switch on the bottom right of the Plexi-Drive Deluxe fires up a particular flavor of midrange punch, and features its own gain level control. On the left, you have a "Post Gain" switch which engages the plexi drive circuit. On this circuit, you have a level control as well as a post-gain dial. An active three-band EQ control layout, as opposed to a passive system, provides your signal with more accurate frequency manipulation when adding or cutting your bass, middle, or treble.

Wampler Plexi-Drive Deluxe Effects Pedal

The Plexi-Drive Deluxe is a direct descendent of the Plexi-Drive Standard but with a few upgraded features. Like the original, the Plexi-Drive Deluxe's unique gain structure can take you from bluesy style 18-watt Marshall tones to the all-out massive rock tones of a JTM-45 cranked to ten, or even eleven. With the addition of an all-new active 3 band Bass/Mids/Treble EQ stack - you can now have even more tonal control. With the bass boost option, you can emulate the feeling of the low-end thump of a 4x12" cabinet (or two) at the flick of a switch. The bass boost will allow you to dial in your low end at lower volume gigs or at bedroom volume levels. Along with the bass switch, Wampler added a bright switch to add highs - which makes changing from bright to dark guitars a breeze. The Plexi-Drive Deluxe also features a one-knob, pre-gain boost soft click switch that is voiced like that "famous overdrive with pronounced mids" - to help push your leads into overdrive.

The Plexi-Drive Deluxe will fill your Marshall void and give you the crunch, response, boost and feeling that your rig begs for. Whether you are playing sold out shows or rocking out by yourself - the Plexi-Drive Deluxe will take your tone and allow you to create your own flavor of rock!

First, zZounds - Call these guys! For your best deal, no hassles, quick action. Have never waited in queue. Second, plugged this into the front of a Blackstar ht5r with a Celestion v30, on clean channel using my Schecter banshee elite 7 FRS and am very pleased with the initial tones; I found I could practice for hours on one or two settings without any mote fiddling! It does fill the Marshall void for me and if I didn't have to go to work, I'd be on it, now!! Using a 9Vdc supply. Build quality is above average/sharp -- a couple screws in back were almost rounded out but I don't plan to access that.
