This baby features true-bypass configuration and easy-to-read different-colored LEDs for each channel.

Brent Mason's Specifications

Brian Wampler got together with Nashville's Brent Mason to capture an awesome amalgamation of Mason's sound. This incredibly dynamic pedal offers a wide range of breakup to play around with -- from crunchy rhythmic chugs, to higher-gained distortion perfect for wailing solos and biting licks. Mason has been one of the most popular session players working out of Nashville since the '90s, and his particular specifications referencing of his style and sound are contained in the tones achieved by this sonically fused overdrive/distortion pedal.

Two Channels -- One Compact Pedal

You'll love the undeniable versatility this pedal affords. Channel one brings in a tonal flavor with plenty of depth read more and warmth. You can push the overdrive on this channel and get unbelievably fat tones while still maintaining an appropriate degree of articulation and clarity. Channel two gives your signal more of a plexi aural contour that just flows seamlessly from your amp's speakers. This channel is great for lead tones and solos. You have the option of using each channel separately or both at the same time, which gives your output a huge "stacking" and monstrously broken up sound.

Switches and Dials

The left channel features volume, distortion, and tones controls, while the right channels has volume, overdrive, tone, and blend dials. The distortion and overdrive controls dial in the amount of breakup for each channel, and the tone controls level in the brightness or darkness of your signal. Each channel also features a fat/regular/fatter toggle switch that acts as a beefy bass boost for when you want a big, bottom-heavy sound. The blend control on the right channel allows you to utilize loads of low end while still maintaining clear articulation.

Wampler Brent Mason Overdrive Pedal

Built on the foundations of v1, the Wampler Brent Mason Hot Wired Overdrive Distortion Pedal v2 stands alone in terms of versatility. The studio scene in Nashville has changed over the last few years, so Wampler had to change the Hot Wired to mirror the industry Brent works in. As you probably already know, v1 was geared towards all out chickin' pickin' and beyond - v2 brings you a broader range of subtlety in channel 1 that mirrors Brent's work today. You can still find the chickin' pickin' tones, but you can also find a deeper, warmer overdrive section that will allow you to play as smooth as you like. With the added blend control, you won't believe how fat your tone can be without it sounding too overdriven. Channel 2 still has the same "Plexi" flavor that Brent loves.

Two pedals in one (overdrive and distortion), this is without doubt one of the most versatile pedals available today. One channel has all your overdrive needs, from a gentle break up to all out crunch, the other gives you dirt... Loads of fat, creamy distortion that is tonally perfect from top to bottom. If need be you can stack them both together for a huge, huge sound.

Brent uses this pedal daily in the studio. He uses it live. When it has Brent's name on it, you know it's nothing short of perfect.

Most people think they've never heard of Brent Mason. Wampler would bet that although you may not recognize the name, chances are huge that you have heard him. Brent is, without doubt, the number 1 session musician working out of Nashville and has been since the early 1990's.

If you have seen 'Friends', 'Bridget Jones Diary' or 'Becker'... Or listened to Shania Twain, Travis Tritt, Alan Jackson, George Strait or any other of the hundreds of artists that call Brent first when they need a guitar player on their recording, you've heard him. It's getting to the point now where Brent is probably one of the most recorded guitar players in history.

Not only is he a now a legendary studio figure, but also a renowned composer and songwriter. His compositions have been used in countless films, TV shows and commercials. His solo albums, in particular "Hot Wired" (from which this pedal got its name) has become almost mythical in its reputation for guitar tone and quality of musicianship. With Brent, you will not believe it until you hear it.

Features:

- Hand made in the U.S.A.
- Battery connection and 9v power jack (barrel plug like Boss)
- Built to Brent's specs exactly
- 2 separate pedals in one box, each with their own gain structure - volume, tone, gain (clean blend on channel 1)
- Bass boost switch on each channel (2 extra stages)

Title pretty much says it all.
Sound
It is hard to get a bad sound from this pedal. The two channels on it are perfectly matched. Right side gets a great grit, almost TS808 sound. The blend for the clean/dirt signal is so useful for dialing in a huge and fat tone, and especially cool for a country sizzle or for clean leads. The left side is Plexi centric, but cleans up really well for a Hendrix style thing. JTM45 to Plexi with ease.
Features
Feature packed - the fat/fatter/normal switches are very useful for adjusting for different volumes, and on the higher gain side it makes my 1x12 Deluxe Reverb sound closer to a 4x12 Marshall Plexi. Blend control is also great and something that I am already hooked on using. The stackable feature (both sides at the same time) is really great, but best reserved for humbuckers as it gets a little buzzy with Strat singles and Tele singles.
Ease of Use
I started with everything at 12 oclock, and it sounded good there. I just tweaked to taste. Very easy to get good sounds.
Quality
This thing seems to be built like a tank. Very high quality components and construction.
Value
Yes, it is quite expensive. But it is like having a Sparkle Drive Mod and a Wampler Plexidrive in the same pedal. Worth it to me. I just go guitar-Wampler-amplifier and get killer tones.
