Flip the "15/30" switch to control the headroom of the Wampler Thirty Something Overdrive pedal, and treat yourself to authentic '60s Class-A tube amp tones.

The Wampler Thirty Something overdrive pedal harnesses that vintage, bell-like, chimey '60s amplifier tone in a compact, easy-to-use overdrive pedal. A 15/30 headroom switch dials back the chime and lets your signal break up a little more easily. Grab the bass and treble controls to shape your tone, or use the a top cut control dial to roll off the high-end sparkle for a darker tone with plenty of warmth. On top of all of that is a class A style treble booster switch with its own boost level control dial. Get that sound made popular by the Vox AC30, AC15, and more -- in a simple stompbox!

Brian Wampler showcases different vintage-styled tones with the Thirty Something:

Troves of British Tones in One Stomp

Your Wampler Thirty Something packs quite a punch of vintage British amp tone for your ears and axe to enjoy. With the gain brought all the way down, you can still get a slight crunch fueled with the warmth of a vintage EL84 tube amplifier. Push the gain up and let your guitar punch through your amplifier and into the room with warm, tube-like clarity.

Powerful EQ Control

The bass and treble control dials on this powerful overdrive pedal let you shape your signal for whatever the occasion demands. In addition to bass and treble knobs, you have a top cut control to either bring in that awesome British chime, or cut back on the highs to dull the clarity and get things a little mellower.

Boost When You Need It

On the bottom right of your Wampler Thirty Something read more is a conveniently placed boost switch. This feature acts as a Class A treble style booster to get a sort of Brian May tone. If you need a little more girth to cut through the mix, utilize the boost level dial to control how much extra push you need to bring in. If you're a lead player, this feature is your best friend.

Headroom Switch

Right in the middle of the Wampler Thirty Something is a headroom toggle switch with two settings. The 30 setting gets you more headroom, so you can hit your axe hard and the breakup will be less intense. You signal will distort a bit more easily on the 15 setting. Having less headroom brings down the chime a bit, but the breakup is nice and warm.

Wampler Thirty Something Overdrive Pedal

Over the last couple of years Wampler Pedals have released the Black '65 and Tweed '57 to compliment the Plexi-Drive in the Heritage Series. Having mastered the classic American tones from both the Blackfaced amps of the '60s and the Tweed style of the '50s, Brian decided it was time to concentrate on the other classic British tone - the tones made famous by VOX amplifiers.

Renowned for their bell like quality and brilliance of clarity, these are the tones that have been the cornerstone of many famous musicians. Bands that have endorsed these classic tones are: The Beatles, U2, country artist Brad Paisley, The Shadows, and of course, the man with the most unique guitar tone of them all - Dr. Brian May of Queen.

Finally after tweaking this pedal for 3 years, Brian was beyond happy. Other pedals have come and gone, but this one has always been on the breadboard; being tweaked here and modified there. Finally Brian was ready to present one of his favorite tones of all time.

What makes those amps so special? Well, first of all there is the "chime" - A beautifully clear and concise high response that cuts through anything. Then there is the overdrive. When you push it hard (with the boost switch activated) the tone creates a midrange hump that makes your tone enormous but with enough clarity to hear every string ring through. The Thirty Something truly is a master class in tone.

As you would expect from Wampler Pedals, great care has been taken to ensure authenticity of tone. The EQ features a Top Cut (not an inverted treble boost), that reacts and removes the same spectrum of frequencies you would expect from the originals. Switchable gain stages allow you a much clearer tone right up to the "that" beautiful, almost regal overdrive. On the inside is a trim pot that will adjust the input gain; so if you are using a guitar with hotter pickups, dropping this back a touch will allow you to retain a true clean tone. Brian has taken his time to ensure that this pedal is "just" right.

So now you can make your guitar rig sound like a classic hand-wired Vox amplifier. With just a click of a switch you can go from chicken-pickin country licks to classic rock tones fit for a Queen... all without breaking the bank.
