Vox AC30 Combo Amplifier with Celestion Greenbacks (2 x 12 in.) Customer Review

I currently own a couple of Marshall MKII Master Lead combo amps a Trace Elliot and a Crate 250 combo.I recently purchaced a Vox AC30 6/TB and I could not believe just how good this amp truely sounds. This amp delivers the tone I've been looking for, be it Blues, playing a Les Paul or Country playing a Telecaster.I was worried that maybe I paid too much for a combo that was rated at 33wtts but this amp is louder than my 50wtt Marshalls.Great amp.

"The greatest amp of all time"

Value:
pricy but worth every penny.Didn't tell the wife what i paid for this one.

Sound:
If your looking for the sound of the 60's/70's classic rock nothing else comes close. The best sounding amp i have ever owned.

Support:
never needed any

Overall:
What can i say but this is the greatest amp in the world.Hard to believe that since the early 1960's no other company has been able to produce an amp that sounds as good as this.

About This Product!
Description
The specifications of the Vox AC30/6 TB are the result of painstaking research by Vox guitarists and engineers, who were not happy until they recreated the amp that started it all. The result is a faithful reproduction in sound and style of those pioneering Vox amps of the early 60's.

Control Panel
The AC30/6 TB control panel layout is the same as the original, even to the point of being back to front! A standby switch has been added to prolong the life of the valves.

Valve Configuration
The valve line-up of the AC30/6 TB is as follows: Five ECC83s and a ECC82 in the preamp stage, with 4 EL84s in the power stage operating in Class A, plus a GZ34 rectifier valve in the power supply, for that unique Vox tone and feel.

Speaker Configuration
The AC30TB is fitted with a pair of Celestion G12M Greenbacks 12 in. speakers. Popular speakers since the 1970's, the Greenbacks have a warm sound with just the right amount of top end bite.

Design
The AC30 comes with original diamond fret cloth reproduction and Vox's famous basketweave vinyl covering, and the cabinet is made of Birch ply throughout, to original specifications. Other Vox cosmetic features, such as the authentic Vox handles, are also true to the original. The vent grilles have been enlarged to allow for improved ventilation. This provides longer valve life and improves amplifier performance.

The AC30/6 TB circuit is a faithful copy of the circuit designed by Dick Denney, Vox design engineer from 1957 to 1965.
