Manufacturer's Description for Vox AC15C1 Guitar Combo Amplifier (15 Watts, 1x12 in.)

First introduced in 1958, the AC15 combo has been the amp of choice for countless guitar players throughout the world. Drawing on more than 50 years of amp-building expertise, the Vox AC15C1 Custom offers maximum tonal dexterity.

An Evolution in Tone

The Vox AC15C1 Custom amp offers two channels: Normal and Top-Boost. Each channel is equipped with its own Volume control, and the Top Boost channel offers highly interactive Treble and Bass tone controls. This powerful channel pairing provides an abundance of tone-crafting control, letting you use the Vox AC15C1 Custom to dial in a classic sound that is all your own.

Both channels rely on the Tone Cut and Volume controls in the Master section. The Tone Cut control operates in the power stage rather than the preamp stage, allowing an additional degree of tone-shaping. The Master Volume control works in conjunction with the individual volumes of each channel to create just the right degree of gain-staging. By balancing the individual and Master volumes, the Vox AC15C1 Custom can deliver everything from a clean VOX "chimey" sound to a powerful overdriven tone.

Sound in Motion

You can sweeten the sound of your Vox AC15C1 Custom using the VOX Classic Tremolo effect. Both the speed and the depth are adjustable, allowing you to generate just the sound you want. A warm Spring Reverb is also included on the Vox AC15C1 Custom, adding spaciousness to the sound. The AC15C1 Custom can use the VOX VFS2 footswitch, allowing you to turn the Reverb and Tremolo effects on and off as you continue to play.

Power Sharing

The AC15C1 Custom combo makes use of 3 x 12AX7 preamp tubes and uses pair of EL84 tubes to drive a single 12-inch Celestion G12M Greenback. The Vox AC15C1 Custom offers a switchable 8/16 ohm output jack for powering an external speaker cabinet when you need to speak with a little more authority; using this jack will mute the internal speakers. Additionally, a 2nd extension speaker jack allows you to run an extra 16 ohm cabinet along with the internal speakers for a fuller sound. zZounds is an authorized dealer of Vox products.

Sound: If you really like the Vox sound for British Invasion along with Classic Rock.... this one is great !!! played Vox all my life ! there back with this new design and it couldn't be better... I've had mine for about 3 months no problems so far...it's build pretty damm good! don't worry about the china made thing ...it's under strict Vox British design and control in China! Ease of Use: GrEat! Quality: Just about as good as anything Value: Top Notch! Manufacturer Support: Any problems contact Korg in New York... good support! Overall: Its a Keeper!

Sound: This amp has many sounds, I use it for Blues Rock and it fills both the genre's very efficiently, I find it to have a great clean tone and a light overdrive. Both are very useable. Feature: It would have been nice to have channel switching. Ease of Use: Pretty easy to dial in a real decent tone. Quality: It is built heavy, I have been using mine a lot in the last year and a half. Value: Great price. The Wow Factor: Dumb question. really! Overall: This is a great sounding amp, I have been playing a lot of medium sized clubs and hasn't disappointed me yet.
Style of Music: Blues / Rock, Rock.
