Description
Multimedia
The new V5 tone wheel organ module is the latest in a series of highly accurate B-3 tone wheel organ simulators. The V5 uses the latest generation of Voce's Digital Tonewheel technology. This is the same technology used in their top of the line V3 Tone wheel organ synthesizer.

The V5 combines a handy MIDI Drawbar controller and the tone generator architecture of the V3 Tone Wheel Organ Synthesizer into one compact sound module the same size as the MIDI Drawbar. This is all made possible by utilizing the latest integrated circuit technology to design a new tone generator chip that squeezes more features into a smaller space than was previously possible. The result is a great sounding module in a compact package, at a great low price.

The V5 features an intuitive, easy-to-use interface including all essential controls for playing a tone wheel organ. There are no complicated multifunction controls or complicated programming schemes. Instead, there are straightforward controls for Volume, Key Click, Overdrive, and Tone Wheel Leakage, as well as Chorus, Vibrato, and Percussion settings. The V5 also lets you save up to 7 programs consisting of drawbar settings, effects, and split settings - all making the V5 the ultimate "performance" tone wheel organ module. Just attach it close to your keyboard, hook it up to your sound system and play. Imagine that!

"It's not just the color that stands out....."
This module has been part of my rig for the last 2 months (10 or so shows). Until I can afford the MotionSound Pro-3T, I just have it running through a pair of 120watts keyboard speakers or whatever house PA system is available.

No simulated rotary effects going through mine yet and it still sounds excellent. The chorus and vibrato effects add a lot of life to the tone. The leakage effect is interesting to play with but a novelty at best to impress your friends with and it does sound very real.
The key click is right on with its sound and doesn't get lost when the volume picks up or when you have a full band bashing it out behind you.

The built in overdrive knob adds some fuzz but to get a really mean sound I run it through a Boss metal zone distortion pedal. MUCH FUN. Play it through a real rotary tube amp with the gain dialed up and you'll feel like Booker T Jones.

I don't use the key split too often, but if you have to whip out a quick Doors tune cause your insane bassist some how busted his E string, the Voce can save his butt.

The unit sends a really hot feed so you don't have to worry about the volume ever being weak regardless of what your playing through.

Previous reviews mention the flimsiness of the drawbars. True. But as far as I'm concerned, you typically don't keep a hand on them running them in and out for your various psychotic sound effects while mashing the keyboard with your other hand. Well, maybe if you are doing a Deep Purple cover. But there is enough room to store 7 programs and if you need to adjust the drawbars frequently, the Voce can handle it. For transport, though, it is a good idea to push all the levers in...I also wrap it with a roll of Charmin.

I own a Hammand and Leslie combo and unless you're a 60's/70's band freak and NEED to duplicate the B3/Leslie122 sound then....buy a Voce V5. I've heard it with simulated leslies and with the Pro3T/LowPro combo and it kicks a side of meatballs, oh yeah... it fits so much nicer in the van.

"Overall good sound quality. I run it thru Korg G4 for small venues and Motion Sound r3/147 for larger arenas."
Feature:
Functions like the real thing. Dave has hit the nail on the head!

Quality:
Unit seems to work fine , but gets hot after bing on for a while.

Desirability:
It's Orange!

Sound:
Exceptional Emulation. The drawbars function in relation to the sound quality of the B3/C3 seires from Hammond. The percusion is quite good. I wish I could control this al little more, but faithfully reproduces the B3 percusion. Chorus / Vibrato are also well appointed

Support:
Dave is very good about replying to emails but currently can't supply parts or schematics. Is there anyone who has these? I would be grateful.

Overall:
I will keep this one!
