Obscenely wonderful little instrument! Beautifully crafted, a lovely tonal quality, and I apparently had already written perfect pieces of music for it. Beware a dark stage, however, as there are no fret markers, save on the side, but they are almost impossible to see. Because of the spacing of the frets, you will have to develop a special muscle memory for this lovely instrument if you plan on playing it live, which I do. I'm already planning out making those fret markers more visible.Note for Schaller Strap Lock users is you will have to slightly enlarge the mounting holes with an 1/8" drill bit, and you will also need to cut off part of the screw before attaching the strap locks. After that, you're good to go on stage.I've had this for only a few hours, and it's already MINE...yes, I marked it.
Sound
The sound is similar to a Mandolin. The Fishman pickup system works as expected, with pure, natural tone at the output jack. Note that the headstock is quite heavy compared to the instrument, so it will want to tip if you don't hold it.
Ease of Use
The sound at the jack is perfect for a natural sound without messing around.
Quality
The fit, and finish, are excellent.
Value
This has no peer. There is no other product to compare it to.
The Wow Factor
It's so very cute. It looks like a mini-me guitar, but with a huge...um...headstock.
