Customize your sound with the Tech 21 TM30's character modeling and 3-band EQ. It's the perfect amp for practicing or for use with a PA system.

The heart of the crafty Trademark 30 is a modified version of the super flexible SansAmp GT2 pedal design. Construct your tone by selecting amp character, gain structure and speaker type, and then use the drive controls and active three-band EQ to nail your sound. The 30-watt output is plenty loud for practice and monitoring but the balanced XLR and 1/4 in. outputs bring the big tones of this little combo to the studio mixer or PA system. Bedroom, rehearsal, studio or club, the Trademark 30 will prove it's a giant amongst compact combos.

I can see using this amp for many years since it can go from home-studio to a small club and perform. If you play with a really loud gang, you might consider the Power Engine 60. It is made specifically for the TN series and is 60w of clean power with a 3-band that can accept the XLR out of the TM30 and double your output power.

Sound
Been playing for 21 years, had a bunch of setups and amps, this is a keeper. I am using this little amp in the practice space with another guitarist, bassists and a drummer. It has exceeded my expectations by far. When running a modeler through it, I use it flat (tweed/clean/flat) and get excellent results. Stand alone, this little thing will really amaze. It is quite LOUD. Reverb is excellent, EQ is acitve, so you get true CUT and BOOST. Every feature, sound and amp model is a useful one, not a one-trick-pony. You can get many, many different tones with just a cable and a guitar. This is my recording amp from now on.

Features
Solid construction, no Chinese splatter glue or half-@ssed staples here. The control console is polished aluminum (I believe) with a small vent to help cool the unit, the chicken-head knobs are smooth and the power switch is an all metal housing with an old fashioned toggle. The speaker mount is solid and all wiring has screwed down guides to hold them securely in place. The 10" is in a metal housing and screwed to the chassis. The I/O on this amp is fantastic. read more There is a 1/4 inch out for driving an external cab (4ohm), and effects send and return and an XLR out for going to a console, power amp, etc. The only reason it scores lower are: no ability to switch channels/voices and the fact that it has no corner protectors. The amp comes with a nylon cover that has a flap so you can carry it by the stitched leather, heavy-duty handle. Very cool.

Ease of Use
If an idiot like me can get good sounds out of this amp, anyone can find good tones in this thing.

Quality
Tremendous workmanship, a really nice amp for the money. All components appear to be of excellent quality.

Value
This has to rate in the top three of small amps available at this price. In fact, I'm not sure anyone else makes an amp this versatile, in this size and certainly not for this money.

Manufacturer Support
I've only briefly dealt with Tech 21 when I called them to find out where the amp was manufactured. Everything they make is still hand-made in NJ. A human being picked up the phone after about three rings and gave me my answer.

The Wow Factor
This is a subjective area. I love it's appearance. It's like a vintage amp in the sense that is is timeless and won't look as goofy as my parachute pants do now.
