The Power Engine 60 is a 1 x 12 open-backed extension cabinet. It packs 60 watts of transparent power and has a special design speaker, individual level control, 3-band active tone controls, and balanced XLR input, 1/4 in. input, and balanced XLR output. The Power Engine 60 matches and complements the Tech 21 Trademark 60 two-channel, combo amp.

Continuing the tradition of designing multi-functional products, this handsome cabinet can also be used with any direct recording device or acoustic pre-amp, analog or digital, tube or solid state, in stomp box or rackmount formats, from any manufacturer! That's right: Zoom, Boss, Digitech, Hughes & Kettner, Marshall, Fishman, L.R. Baggs, or even Tech 21's own line of SansAmps!

Without having to tweak all of your presets, you can take all those great direct recording sounds you've spent so much time creating out to a gig and amplify them. Just plug your SansAmp or other preamp into a Power Engine 60 and get all the volume you need without any additional coloration. Knowing that not all rooms are created acoustically perfect, you can compensate for less than ideal circumstances simply by adjusting the convenient, onboard active EQ controls.

With ground-independent inputs and output, there's no limit to how much power you can have. You can chain Power Engine 60s together from New York to Tokyo, and back if you like. Power Engines can also facilitate stereo configurations - with a traditional amp or with a preamp and stereo processor. read more

Overall I think I finally found my signature amp. I'm gonna be following tech21 for a long time. I look for products that will give me the best sound with the most flexability. I don't have to have a Axe fx and a 2 atomic 2x12's for $4000 or a 6505+ and cab for $2000 that is a one trick pony unless I buy multiple pedals or processing gear. The pw60 and a podhd500 for $830 with give me the volume I need. Its light weight. Great tone. And the ability to add more speakers when my budget allows and when I come upon larger venues. Not to mention any pedal I buy in the future will work perfect with it. I don't know how many times I've bought a guitar or pedal just to be disappointed it sounds bad with my amp.

Sound
The sound is awesome. I unplugged my podhd500 from my fullstack and plugged it into the pw60 and made a minor eq adjustment on the pw60 and cranked it up and it sounded better than my stack just as loud and clearer sounding, more responsive etc. Not and full sounding but better tone. I'm confident if I had four of the pw60's it would sound better. The pw60's eq is what makes the difference. For studio use you could adjust the pw60's speaker to have more punch, twang,or lag for metal. I'm a metal guy so I was really impressed.

Features
The pw60 is light weight. Its like picking up a case of beer. The eq is awesome. Pretty bare bones unit. I think the ability to connect to other pw60's is its biggest asset. Ill defenatly read more be ordering more. If your looking for a amp for your podhd500 or any other processor the pw60 is it. Save your bank and your back. Its worth it for the sound and flexability.the only feature missing is a ohm selecter switch and the ability to plug it in to a 4x12 cab. But like I said buy 4 and your covered. Zzounds makes that very easy for anyone.

Ease of Use
I'm only giving it a 9 because the plugs and controls are on the back. Its a pain at home but with a podhd500 that has a master volume its not to inconvienant and it does make it look better.

Quality
What can I say looked great and made in the u.s.a. and I noticed it doesn't get real hot. All in all it should last. For the price I could buy 6 for the price of a 6505+ and matching cab. And have more versitility and sound just as good.

Value
Great value $330 to sound better and only carry 33lbs

Manufacturer Support
I've got there number if I ever need it. 1 year Warrenty should be good. I work my equiptment pretty hard. I had a solid state amp from another brand I won't mention and it blew in 3 days.

The Wow Factor
Great retro boutique looking amp.
