Product Description

The T5 Custom is a benchmark of guitar design and performance. Stylized f-holes flank the bridge, while Taylor's intricate Artist inlays progress up the fretboard. The fully-hollow Sapele body and Spruce top combine with Taylor's 5-way pickup to create a guitar that's capable of pristine acoustic sounds and high-gain electric sounds, through both acoustic and electric amps.

Taylor honed their craft, inventing new pickups and pushing technology into totally new territory. The time for a guitar with real electric and acoustic tones has arrived.

Beginning with a fully-hollow thinline body that makes your acoustic tone authentic, they designed the Taylor T5 to perform equally well through both electric and acoustic amps.

Thanks to its humbucking pickups and proprietary body sensor, the Taylor T5 electric guitar produces a versatile range of pure analog tones from strumming acoustic to crunch electric and everything in between. No catches, no compromises. One flick of its 5-way switch and you're on your way.

Available in T5 Standard and T5 Custom configurations, the T5 features sapele back and sides with your choice of spruce, maple, or koa tops as well as stylized f-holes, 5-way pickup, electric Nanoweb coated Elixir Strings, Taylor T-Lock neck joint, and a variety of sunburst and colored finishes.

Sound: As I said below, I've played the T5 through several different amp and love the unique sound I get from each one. This guitar loves to be plugged into anything and thats a credit to Taylor guitars engineering staff. Feature: The 5 position selector and ES system are idiot easy. This is such an easy guitar to play, simply to use and just overall a pleasure. Ease of Use: So silky smooth, fast, easy to work the fretboard top to bottom. Quality: This is a Taylor Guitar, what more needs really to be said. Craftsmanship, detailing, flawless workmanship, attention to everything is what Taylor Guitars are all about. Everyone should have a Taylor guitar in their life time. Value: I would say that when i first got it, the price was higher but I scored on a good deal. I noticed the cost has come down some. Great for those about to purchase their first T5. I got the T5-C1 and only wish I had the money to get the KOA top version. Manufacturer Support: I took my T5 to a local dealer even though I did not buy it from them. They were still more than willing to look at it and take care of my problem which wound up to be a simple fix. None the less, Taylor should be happy to know Blue Note in San Luis Obispo, CA rates first class for you. The Wow Factor: Beautiful to look at, hold, run your hands over and play. Light in weight, wonderful to hold and always receives accolades for the beauty it bestows when looked upon by those in the audience. I've had friends ask to play it, often desiring to get their own once they have. I had planned to buy a Chet Atkins the day I ran into the T5, and immediately knew this was the guitar for me. Overall: I am extremely pleased with the quality, feel, sound and overall playability of the T5. The ES is so easy to dial in the the tone that I'm wanting to achieve. I play it through a Epiphone tube amp and the sound is awesome. I also have played it through several amps. All sound fantastic. I have often thought that if I had money to throw around I would buy two more in different colors. This is just one beautiful guitar. I would never sell mine and if stolen, I would get my insurance man to make out a check fast to buy another. I have a Strat, Tele, Ernie Ball, 335, Casino, and this one I always seek first along with my 314ce by Taylor.

Sound: This guitar was a gift and so being an acoustic player I did not have an elec. amp. Plugged it strait into my PA through DI box, awsome sound. Not the best set up to realize the best from the humbucker but still a lot of fun. Plays like butter, and lot's of room for creativity. I am able to find tones that took different guitars to get and still havent plugged it into an amp yet. Feature: Havent had a chance to explore the potential this guitar is capable of. Quality: Beautiful, great Taylor product. Thanks Taylor Value: Taylor's are expensive I think you get what you pay for with these guys. Manufacturer Support: Taylor has been top notch. Have called them regarding plug in and recommendations using PA ect. Very helpful The Wow Factor: Def. has sex appeal to match it's sheer genius design. Very nice. Would need to own lots of gear to create these sounds. I still want lots of gear (don't we all) but not required. PA, or AMP, modeling pedal and PA, lots of fun. Best set up Ive listened to is AB switch, acoustic to PA, electric to amp, both on at same time or seperate. Great sound. Overall: Won't replace my Taylor 614ce but it's awfully hard to put the T-5 down. Played for 10hrs one Saturday and it seemed like 2hrs.
