Overview

The Taylor 522e is a small-bodied acoustic-electric cut in Taylor's Grand Concert shape. It utilizes a mahogany back, sides and neck in this design, drawing a sound that is more focused and tight than bigger Taylors -- but channels just as much tonal richness and complexity. The Taylor Expression System onboard is thought by many to be the finest acoustic-electric pickup system in the world.

The Finest Mahogany You'll Ever Find

The back and sides on the Taylor 522e are made from a select tropical mahogany that sounds magnificent and looks beautiful under its light gloss finish. The mahogany neck is set at the 12th fret, and offers a slightly shorter scale than some acoustics at 24.875 inches. When it's in your hands, you're likely to find that this scale length makes fretting chords smooth and almost effortless.

A Revolutionary Acoustic-Electric Pickup System

The pickup system found on the 522e -- the Expression System -- is one of Taylor's great innovations. In collaboration with the legendary audio engineer Rupert Neve, Taylor created an internal preamp capable of reproducing the guitar's incredible natural sound, but without adding the noise or coloration created by most drop-in pickup systems. Handsome From Top to Bottom

Like all Taylor guitars, the 522e projects beauty, thanks to its top-notch tonewoods and materials and elegant proportioning. The elegant mahogany 522e is adorned with a black pickguard cut in Taylor's distinctive shape. The soundhole is accented with an ivoroid rosette that matches the binding around the body. The Century fretboard inlay is made from ivoroid as well.
