The Taylor 214ce delivers everything modern guitarists love about Taylor guitars. This Grand Auditorium acoustic-electric offers easy playability, captivating looks, and a heaping portion of signature Taylor sound. With a 214ce in hand, it's easy to understand why players of every style and skill level continue to embrace Taylor Grand Auditoriums as their go-to instruments.
The Unmistakable Tone of a Taylor
Perhaps more than any other modern guitar, Taylor acoustics -- and Grand Auditoriums in particular -- carry a one-of-a-kind tone defined by bright, singing highs and rich, robust lows. The 214ce's Sitka spruce top, laminated rosewood back and sides, and forward-shifted bracing pattern accentuate these exact tonal qualities. Strummed or plucked, this guitar sings with excellent clarity and balance -- and, like all Grand Auditoriums, mixes especially well with singing voices.
The 214ce is the sort of guitar that's just impossible to put down. With a thinner waist than a typical dreadnought, the Grand Auditorium design is easy to hold and easy to play. A smooth ebony fingerboard caps the ergonomic neck, and a deep Venetian cutaway enhances access past the neck joint. Every inch of this guitar invites players of any style to strum or pick the hours away, with vibrant tones and engrossing character.
Onboard ES-T Electronics
Run a 214ce through any amplifier or PA and the onboard Taylor Expression System pickup does the rest. A single under-saddle transducer propels rich, organic tones with clarity and depth, individually capturing the ringing tones of each string. The preamp includes Taylor-designed EQ controls and dynamic response, as well as a phase switch to combat feedback. From coffeehouses to arenas and everywhere in between, the 214ce features the electronics you need to immerse your audience in captivating Taylor acoustic timbres.
