Ready for the Grandest Auditoriums

The body on the Taylor 114ce is a full-size Grand Auditorium style, which has always been Taylor's most popular body shape. In terms of proportioning, the Grand Auditorium is a guitar with the body depth of a Dreadnought and the slightly deeper side curves of a Grand Concert. Combining elements from these two styles, the Grand Auditorium body proves equally versatile to strumming and fingerpicking styles. With a warm but unobtrusive low end, a clear midrange, and sparkling highs, the Taylor 114ce guitar may well be the most versatile instrument for the money in the whole Taylor line.

The Taylor 114ce's back and sides are constructed with layered sapele wood, just like guitars in Taylor's popular 200 Series. The 114ce is 16 inches across at its widest point, with a body depth of 4.625 inches. The fast and slender (1.6875-inch width) sapele neck is a standard 25.5-inch scale.

Custom Onboard Electronics

Taylor's ES-T pickup is a totally proprietary Taylor design -- not to be confused with Taylor's original Expression System (ES) pickup designed with Rupert Neve. The ES-T on this instrument is result of extensive development on Taylor's read more own behalf, and an audibly successful innovation in acoustic pickup design. It is a single-source piezo transducer located under the saddle. The ES-T pickup has a true powered preamp with active controls, and includes highly musical Bass and Treble EQ knobs, as well a master Volume control. The amplifier also has a Phase switch, accessible via the soundhole, to give you more control over feedback occurring between monitors and amps. The Phase switch can also be used simply to achieve a different tone.

No-Frills Beauty

The Taylor 114ce is as understated and elegant as the other handsome guitars in Taylor's 100 series. Its ebony fretboard is set with 6mm dot inlays on 7 frets. There is an elegant Indian rosewood overlay on the headstock, which is accented with 6 solid die-cast chrome tuners that hold your stings tightly in tune. The tortoise-style pickguard has a stylish and distinctive cut. A handsome 3-ply multi-tone rosette and a slim black binding finish complete the thoughtful detailing on this guitar.

i have been playing guitar for a few years, and i am just recently starting to get a lot more serious about it. i have some nice electric guitars but ive been trying to start writing more melodic stuff and going more in depth with chords, and just playing acoustic instead of hard rock all the time. i have been in love with taylor guitars for years, and a friend of mine told me that zzounds.com lets you make payments on some items. i immediately came to this website looking for a taylor guitar. this one is everything i wanted. the tone is so beautiful. i havnt put it down all day. the playability is so smooth, and i especially love the cutaway which helps me reach more frets that were harder to reach on my last acoustic. i just cant believe how gorgeous the guitar looks, and i cant even begin to describe how beautiful it sounds. anyone thinking about getting this guitar, just know that it is worth every penny! AMAZING guitar!! the free gig bag is pretty nice too, guitar fits perfectly in it, and has a storage pocket for chords/sheet music etc.

Musical Background:
