The US144 is your computer's gateway into the audio world. More than just a soundcard, it has a pair of pro-quality microphone preamps for connecting any type of microphone. High-quality condenser microphones - like the included TM78 - need power to operate, which is achieved with the phantom power switch. Another switch turns on the line input, for recording powered devices like keyboards, drum machines and guitar amp modelers. You can even plug your guitar or bass directly into the US144. With two inputs, you can record two microphones or sources at once.
The Track Pack T2 also comes with Cubase LE4 software. This software gives you plenty of tracks - up to 48! - to put together a song arrangement, one track at a time. It's simple to use, and you can edit your tracks to fix timing and mistakes to put together a perfect take. Cubase LE4 has a professional-quality mixer built in with plug-in effects like reverbs, compressors, distortion, auto-pan and more. You can add more VST plug-ins later and there are more free and commercial VST plug-ins than any other format. Cubase LE4 supplies everything you need to record your music and turn it into a polished, professional CD.

Feature:
The only thing I dont like in this package that I dont really care for is the desktop mic stand and the short mic cable. Everything else was perfect.
Quality:
The interface itself is made of metal and very sturdy. I'll never be playing football with it or anything so it will last a very long time. Its portability potential is unmatched. The least quality item is again the little computer desk mic stand.
Value:
Worth every penny!
Desirability:
Women can be sexy, but equipment....not my thing.
Sound:
I was told that the mic is too quiet and distorts when turned up. However I have found that the mic is perfect for the vocals I use it for.
Ease of Use:
As far as getting a great sound out of this equipment it is super easy, basically plug and play. I dont use the Cubase LE4 that comes with it, but only because I own a better cubase program already. I am relatively new to computer recording, but this product is very easy to learn to use.

As long as I am doing computer recording this will be part of my setup.

this interface is great... it comes with cubase le 4, which is good, it also comes with a mic... but the mic is not so great... i notice if i have it turned down, you can barely hear me, and when its to the max, the mic is distorted.... so definetly get a new mic
