Product Description

Tascam's compact DR-08 portable digital recorder packs serious audio quality into a handheld dynamo that fits in your pocket. It captures audiophile-quality 96kHz/24-bit WAV files - or web-friendly MP3 files - to robust MicroSD media. The built-in microphones have a unique mechanism to change the width and angle of the elements, allowing you to tailor the pattern for the perfect recording. There's even a built-in kickstand for placing the recorder right where you want it. A pair of AAA batteries allows you to record for hours to the included 2GB card, then transfer the recording to your computer using high-speed USB 2.0.

Like Tascam's other best-selling portable recorders, the DR-08 has features like auto level control and a low cut filter for clear recordings. Add your own microphone or line-level source using the 1/8" stereo input. The DR-08 has loop and variable speed on playback, allowing you to slow down speed without changing the pitch to learn new music. There's also noise canceling and EQ functions for improved playback timbre.

Sound: This recorder has amazed me. I have recorded both my acoustic & electric groups with it and I have no complaints. It does well with low volume recordings, catching the suttleties of acoustic guitar & vocal mix wihtout honing in on one or the other. It dosen't overload with loud electric recording 95-105DB, and does a great of job picking up bass & drums. I was amazed at how well it recorded the kick drum of my group. For the money it is a 10 in my opinion and I would highly recommend it to anyone. Feature: It includes a cable that connecte to a USB port on my computer & links well with it. I wish it had a stand up bracket to set it up on a table. Like to see a mike stand attatchment. Ease of Use: Good link with my computer. Wish the view screen was bigger and the print was larger. Manuel is easy to understand. Not much of a learning curve. I like the choices for Wave-MP3 recordings. I played it back thru a mixer & it sounded fine. The onboard speaker is weak in volume & tone. Quality: So far it seems durable & well made. Wait till I drop it a few times & I'll know for sure....Ha!! Value: Great price on zzounds, great value! Manufacturer Support: no The Wow Factor: good Overall: I tend to hold onto things I like & I like this a lot. Don't plan on getting another type of product for a while.
