In Modern Drummer's most recent shootout of 9 different drum kits in the "entry-level" price range Tama's Rockstar simply swept away the competition. Best tom sound, best bass drum sound, best drum heads, and best all-around. Available in 8 different covered finishes (including 3 metallics), Rockstar is packed with pro features like the Star-Cast Mounting System, MTH900 Modular Tom Mount, and high-tech Accu-Tune Bass Drum hoops. As with all Tama drums, Rockstar comes with a 5-year shell warranty and there's never any shell penetrating hardware that could compromise the great Rockstar sound.

Star-Cast Mounting System
Tama's new Hoop Grips made it possible to offer the Star-Cast advantage to players using triple-flanged hoops as well as those using die-cast. The addition of the Star-Cast mounting system with Hoop Grips to both Rockstar and Rockstar Custom rack toms is just one of more reason why these affordable drums are heads above any drum in their price range.

Bass Drum Accu-Tune Hoops
Made of high-tech material, Tama's Accu-Tune hoops represent one of the most significant advances in drum technology. Accu-Tune hoops require no T-rods or clawhooks and they offer more stable tuning, lighter weight, and increased resonance. An angled groove at the bottom of the hoop provides secure pedal attachment.

Bass Drum Spur Brackets
Nowadays it's common sense not to put the spur into the shell where it would interfere with resonance. But that wasn't always the case. So it was a breakthrough when Tama pioneered the idea of no shell penetrating hardware. Their new MSB10 continues this Tama tradition with a 2-piece cast design that provides both security and easy set-up.

Bass Drum Heads
Rockstar's new upgraded heads ensure a great sound practically right out of the box! Batter side heads are now made of Dupont Mylar for richer tone and greater durability. Ring mufflers on the bass drum heads remove the need for internal muting. zZounds is an authorized dealer of Tama products.

"Don't have to spend a fortune to sound great"

Sound: Tama has one of the best sounds in the percussion world. from the fine tones of the toms to the thunder of the bass drums Feature: there are no bad features about tama drums. they are easy to set up and have one of the best desines for tight kit players Ease of Use: one of the best sounds out there ver y easy to play. the toms have a nice warm sound and the bass drums have that deep wet sound that j ust makes them sound mean Quality: all tama drums are made well. From the rock star beginers set to the pro series art star. Value: yes, this drum set is deffinetly worth the price. just remember this, You dont need to spend 15,000$ on a custom made D.W drumset to sound good, its the player that makes the drums not the other way around. real drummers can make any drum kit sound great Manufacturer Support: i have never had a problem with the support people at tama. The Wow Factor: tama has one of the best looks out there it goes great with there sound Overall: I will always be satisfied with my tama art star drums and woulden't trade them for an ything. i play them more than any of my other drum sets.
