Never before has there been a travel guitar designed to look and feel like a professional instrument.

The Midnite Xpress has been created utilizing Switchmusic's Exclusive Patented Vibracell Technology. Vibracell is one of today's most advanced technologies and allows Switch Vibracell instruments to deliver superior sonic quality and extreme sustain. Vibracell can endure the most extreme climate changes to withstand the true rigors of the road.

The Midnite Xpress features a 20-1/4 in. scale Ebonite fingerboard. The Ebonite fingerboard is so lightning fast and smooth you feel like you are playing on glass. Grover tuning machines along with a tune-o-matic bridge and stop tailpiece allow the Midnight Xpress to be tuned to full concert pitch (never a need to tune up for string tension). For live performance the Midnite Xpress has been fitted with an extremely high quality proprietary Red Hot Ceramic humbucking pickup. The pickup is controlled with a single volume and tone control and features a coil tap switch allowing the pickup to operate as a single-coil for complete sonic versatility.

The Midnite Xpress' carved top body features a built-in professional headphone amp with volume control for silent play. The player has a choice of a clean or rocking overdrive setting via a select switch. Two AAA batteries power the headphone amp for hours of operation. The headphone amp can be operated simultaneously with the instrument plugged into an amplifier.

Sound: Couldn't believe the tone of this little screamer. Smooth blues or biting country this gem sings. The headphone amp sounds better on the distortion setting to me but played live it rocks and the tap switch really opens up options. Feature: Finally a travel guitar that lets me play like I want. Had tons of fun playing this live too, everyone wants to know about the "baby" guitar. Ease of Use: Just plain FUN! Quality: Amazing, would have given it a 10+ but the intonation is tricky to get set up if you're a purist like me. Can be done but the short scale makes adjustments very precise. This thing plays like butter, very smooth. The Ebonite fretboard is on par with my Parkers. Value: Paid $389 on sale and I feel it was a bargin. You just can't find a travel guitar with the features, quality, sound and playability. Would have been nice to have a hard case but the small size makes it easy to put it in a protected place. Manufacturer Support: Never used them but I'd heard they either have or are going out of business. What a shame. I'll bet this ends up being a collectible gem. The Wow Factor: Chicks really go for this little monster. Overall: They'll have a hard time getting me to part with this. If it's ever stolen I'll hunt them down and pull their entrails out thru their nose.
