Get ready for the drums of your dreams. From the real to the surreal, these drums sound amazing. Recorded at the famous Blue Jay Recording Studios and Wellspring Studios near Boston, all drums and all cymbals are stereo -- no loops -- and heavily multi-velocity (multiple samples from soft to loud hits). The snares are even sampled at multiple places on the drum. This attention to detail is guaranteed to give you the most realistic, most playable drum sounds ever. This is where Carly Simon, Alice Cooper, Joni Mitchell, Amy Grant, the legendary group Boston, Britny "big hair" Fox and many other great musicians have recorded and mixed their CDs. And this is where the Sonic Implants Blue Jay Drum Series comes from. Need we say more? OK, they also hired renowned engineer Mark Tanzer (NRBQ, Carly Simon, Patty Larkin, Jerry Marotta, Livingston Taylor, Lyle Mays and others) and his arsenal of top-notch audio gear to get the best, cleanest, punchiest recordings possible. Taking full advantage of Blue Jay Studios' excellent wood, stone and glass recording rooms, Sonic Implants recorded natural small- and large-ambient versions of a 15 piece Yamaha Maple Custom drum set.

Session Drum Implants
Using close microphone techniques at Wellspring Studios in Boston, this collection captures the most natural elements of a beautiful set of DW and Pearl drum kits. Renowned studio engineer Coleman Rogers helped Sonic Implants sample this kit using his arsenal of great mics, pre-amps, and compressors. After 3 days and nights sampling every drum and every cymbal, using different sticks at different velocities, at different places on the drums, they came away with no less than 20 DAT tapes of incredible sounding drum samples. zZounds is an authorized dealer of Sonic Implants products.

Sound: Awesome Drums and you wont believe how such small (under 20MB) drums can sound so big. I normally use either the Jay Drums Small Ambient 1 or 2. Very recommended.
