Beta 58A Microphone Cartridge

In the tradition of the SM58(R), the Beta 58A dynamic microphone has become a top choice among vocalists and touring sound professionals.

The Shure Beta 58A is a high-output supercardioid dynamic vocal microphone designed for professional sound reinforcement and project studio recording. It maintains a true supercardioid pattern throughout its frequency range. This ensures high gain-before-feedback, maximum isolation from other sound sources, and minimum off-axis tone coloration. The Beta 58A has a shaped frequency response that is ideal for close-up vocals. The superb performance of this microphone is not affected by rough handling because of its rugged construction, proven shock mount system, and hardened steel mesh grille. Typical applications for the Beta 58A include lead vocals, backup vocals and speech.

Beta 58A Features:

- Smooth, extended frequency response for outstanding sound for professional live vocal use
- Consistent supercardioid pattern provides the best gain-before-feedback among dynamic microphones
- Pneumatic shock mount reduces handling noise
- Frequency response: 50 to 16,000 Hz

I recently purchased 2 of these units and have to say that I'm very pleased with their performance. In my opinion, When using The slx24/beta 58A unit, it's sounds pretty much identical to a wired beta 58. From what I understand, this has to do with the fact that it transmits on a UHF channel frequency. Which makes it sound superior to the PG, BLX, GLX models. I've been using these for live band work and have never had any issues. on a typical gig i use 2 of these SLX mics, 2 shure PSM 200's. 2 of the bands older PG wireless mics, A dual band router running and also some wireless DMX units. Never had a problem. I find that the beta 58A capsule is brighter sounding than an SM58 capsule. So choose what bests suits your needs. It's also very cool that shure includes a rack mount kit, with the ability to move the antennae's to the front.
