This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
I have three ew100 G2's from 2003 or so, and two ew100 G3's from 2011. All have behaved perfectly with 2-3 hours a week of usage, and all five have given a total of about three seconds of bad reception issues in that entire time frame. If you have been buying sub $300 wireless microphones for years, then these Sennheisers are a huge step up in reception and audio quality.

Sound
I used to have thirty seconds of static in an hour church service. These mics will never do that. Using the cardoid mic element means less feedback from main speakers too.

Features
With the G3's you can set an eight character name right on the screen, IE: JimsMic or BlueClip. The base receiver unit is smart enough to scan a billion frequencies and then tell you which chunk is the safest to use. Set all of your preferences on the base, hold sync on the base, hold sync on the receiver, and bam: settings copied. I also love that the base screen tells you if the user has the Mute switch on currently, as well as battery level.

Ease of Use
With the clip on packs, the main on/off button is hidden under the door. You need to train people to HOLD the button for three seconds otherwise you go into an RF menu. If you can train your users to hold the power for three seconds, and you can read an owners manual for first time setup, then these are very easy to use.

Quality
The packs themselves are read more a metal casing. I've had no issues with equipment quality except for when users aren't nice to the cord. Regular cord folding, bending, and hard wrapping will cost you a replacement mic head every four to five years if you aren't gentle.

Value
Spend $100 on a crummy wireless, it will work poorly for nine months. Spend $300 on a next-step-up wireless, and have it work mostly ok for a few years. Buy this mic, and you'll loose track of how many years ago you bought if/when you need to replace it.
