Seymour Duncan SMB4D 4-String Music Man Ceramic Pickup

Swap out the old pickups from your Music Man bass with these powerful humbuckers, and you'll a balanced, aggressive tone that doesn't sound muddy.

Your Music Man plays great, now make it sound great with this powerful ceramic magnet pickup designed specially to bring out the best tone of the mid- and late-'70s Stingrays. This hum-canceling pickup offers a highly musical tone contour with a richly articulated bottom, major midrange, and lots of treble. It's got a nice, mild bark without being overly brash, and it's not at all harsh in the mid-range. The low end is full and strong without being mushy or foggy. It is best used wired in parallel.

I purchased this pickup to replace the stock one in my Sterling Ray4 Sub Bass which sounded OK before. But now...WOWI highly recommend this pickup if you are going to use your Ray4 for gigging. You and your band mates will be very happy. The bottom is very punchy and clean,The mids are smooth, and the treble rings through clear. You figure $300. For the bass and $100. For The pickup both through zZounds plus the cost of my friend who installed it.For less than $500. I have a Bass that holds its own day in and day out.I bought the bass and pickup both on zZounds payment plan so that made it much easier for a working stiff like me to have quality gear without having to go broke.

Musical Background:

Been playing bass for many years, all of it in bars and honky tonks.

Musical Style:

I mostly play rock, country, blues, the kind of stuff people can have fun dancing to.
