Picture shows Zebra. Item is all Black. Standard single-conductor cable version.

The most important thing about the vintage Patent Applied For pickup was its warm, smooth tone and sustain that was unlike anything heard before. The SH-1 is built with the same kind of enameled wire, nickel-plated studs, and balanced coil windings that humbucker inventor Seth Lover used in his first pickups. It looks and sounds just like a '59.

"A great pickup for that classic sound."

I am going to hang on to this one. I don't think I will use another humbucker. This complements my other Strat with Kinman classics when I need a fatter sound. I don't have to tweek the amp when I change guitars on stage. I can't find anything I don't like about these pickups.
Sound
This is the sound. Sound of this through my JCM2000 DSL50 is everything a person wants in a rock tone. Responds to guitar volume, pick attack and sustains forever. Nice feed back too. Not screechie at all. Warm yet good high/low frequency response with a good edge. I replaced a Pearly Gates with this and got rid of the overly mid sound of that one. Now I have a much more versitle and usable tone. I highly recomend this one. There is no coil tap or split feature, but it doesn't need it.
The Wow Factor
This pickup gives my guitar a whole new feel and I just love it. Wow!

Rock, old to new
