I am a microphone fanatic. As a vocalist, I would have to be. I've been in the business of music 46 years and can tell you I've come across some exceptional, and not so exceptional mics. This is an exceptional mic. My practice is to put a good condenser mic in the stand (I prefer large condensers) and roll with it until dust effects sound quality. I'll then clean up mic and either store it or sell it at my friend's music store here in town. This mic is a keeper. I just put a new chrome series mic in the stand. I will be recording my new disc with this mic. But the SE still gets a 5 star rating.
