Sleek Solid Body Design

The Custom-S features a mahogany body for rich sustain, while keeping the instrument lightweight. The neck is also made of mahogany, with a robust three-piece design to help keep it true through years of heavy gigging. It's got Grover Rotomatics tuners with 18:1 gear ratio, which allow for more precise tuning and stability while bending -- great for tracks that require half step tunings. And if course, you've got a genuine Floyd Rose tremolo at the bridge for when finger-bending just isn't enough.

Sustainiac Driver for Infinite Sustain

The Sustainiac Driver read more provides controlled feedback for a truly 21st-century twist on this metal machine. When active, the Sustainiac circuit amplifies the pickup signal and feeds it into the Sustainiac Driver, which converts this signal into vibrational energy. This vibrational energy feeds back into the string, much like what happens when you play in front of a loud amp, allowing for screeching feedback and unending sustain with the flip of a switch. Two mini switches are provided for controlling the Sustainiac Driver, an on/off switch and a normal/mix/harmonic switch which allows you to manipulate the harmonics of your controlled sustain.

Schecter Synyster Gates Custom-S

The Schecter Synyster Gates Custom-S has all of the Syn Custom upgrade features, from the killer pinstripe graphics, to the Floyd Rose Original 1000 locking tremolo. There's a custom Seymour Duncan Invader humbucker in the bridge only on this one, as the Custom-S is loaded with Syn's self-dubbed 'secret weapon' Sustainiac System. Two mini toggles are added to control the Stealth Pro's On/Off as well as the Harmonic Mode.

Grover Rotomatics Tuners

The original Rotomatic with an improved higher ratio gearing. The 18:1 ratio provides for finer tuning and greater stability. The finer gears provide smoother tuning and a higher degree of backlash elimination.

Ebony Fingerboard

Ebony has a snappy, crisp attack with the density of maple, but with more brittle grains, oilier pores, and a stronger fundamental tone than maple. It has a tremendous amount of percussive overtones in the pick attack, that mute out shortly thereafter to foster great, long, sustain.

Seymour Duncan Invader / Sustainiac Pickups

Invader- Designed for the heaviest tones a passive pickup can produce. A combination of three ceramic magnets, over-wound coils and twelve cap screws make the Invader an electrifying force of energy. Sustainiac- This Driver/Pickup produces beautiful humbucker tones when Sustain switch is off, and works as the Sustainiac Driver when switched On. The Sustainiac Driver creates an infinite feedback sustain of string vibrations by electromagnetic feedback. Bridge pickup is selected when Driver is on.

3-Piece Mahogany Neck

Made with 3 pieces of mahogany for extra stability. 3 piece necks can withstand the test of time. Where standard necks may show aging defects from temperature and moisture changes throughout the years, the 3 piece neck will stay nice and straight for a lifetime of playability.

Sustainiac Functions

The 'Secret Weapon' for controlled feedback and infinite sustain. First, the pickup signal is processed by the Sustainiac circuit, and then connected to the Sustainiac Driver. The Driver turns the amplified note into vibrational energy. This vibrational energy is then fed back into the strings for infinite sustain. This string vibration is similar to playing in front of a loud amp.

Sustainiac Mini Switches

On/Off Switch: This turns on/off the Sustainiac driver. Normal/Mix/Harmonic Switch: Normal Mode- String vibration will continue to ring natural fundamental note. Mix Mode- Some frets yield fundamentals, while others yield harmonics. Notes below the 12th fret will mostly morph into 2nd or 3rd harmonics. Harmonic Mode- Sustained notes morph into a high 5th or 7th harmonic vibration.

On first glance this is one of the coolest looking guitars I had ever seen. I was looking for a sustaniac pickup to add to one of my SG’s when I found this guitar. When the guitar came I realized to play lead my way, I would have to adjust things. After lowering the strings and re-intonating the guitar and after a few weeks practice getting used to the neck, I found it plays like a dream for lead guitar with all bends on every fret perfect. The ebony necks is friction free and find I have to stop myself from playing long leads as you just want to play and play. Its tone without the Sustaniac is outstanding for the blues, rock or metal depending on the amp. The sustaniac worked perfect for the part I was recording and must opine this guitar is a steal at its low list price. I pulled out my ES355 TDSV (Mint State with Ivory F holes) and Les Paul Custom (SG ) to compare the ebony and must opine if Schechter put their name on the head stock with inlays, this guitar should cost well over 2 grand. Also minor height adjustments on the pickups changes the tone so I lowered the sustaniac and raised the Seymour Duncon which reduced the treble to the exact tone I was looking for. I have never had a guitar which could make such a difference in tone with such adjusting. It’s a steal, loved adding it to my collection, (Roger McGuin Signature Rick etc.) and have not put it down for all intent and purposes since I purchased it over a month ago. Happy Rockin.
