You'll certainly stand out in the crowd with the Schecter Stiletto Studio 8-string electric bass. With 8 strings in 4 double-courses tuned in octaves delivering a rich, chorused effect, this dynamic and punchy axe features a mahogany and bubinga body, a maple/walnut multi-ply neck, 24 XJ frets in a smooth rosewood fingerboard, neck-through-body construction for increased stability and smoother transfer of sound, a pair of EMG 35HZ humbuckers, a secure Diamond custom bridge, and active three-band EQ control to give you greater command over the sound of your output. Not only does this 8-string bass look great, it provides a vast tonal playground for your fingers and ears to enjoy.

Mahogany and Bubinga Body

Bubinga is an attractive wood with somewhat similar tonal features to rosewood. As a guitar tonewood, it brings in a nice helping of sustain and is a great companion for bass guitars. Mahogany pushes the low and middle frequencies and yields a solid dose of sustain as well. The body's deep cutaway gives your fingers easy access to higher frets.

Neck-Through-Body Design

You'll certainly notice a slight difference in the way your Schecter Stiletto Studio 8 feels once you shoulder it. Neck-through-body basses have a very solid feel to them, because the neck extends all the way through the body to the lower bout of the instrument. You'll get a little extra sustain and a smoother transfer of sound that'll add even more resonance to the table.
