Schecter California Custom 5-String Electric Bass

Previously only available from the Schecter Custom Shop, the new Diamond Series California Custom Basses offer many features from those hand-built counterparts. These Custom basses feature an alder body with a highly figured Maple top. Both 4 and 5 string versions feature a bolt-on 35 in. scale rock maple neck for added low-end clarity. The gloss-finished neck has a 21-fret rosewood fingerboard inlaid with Black Pearl dots. Other features include a massive chrome plated Hipshot 'A' style bridge, which adds sonic sustain, low-end clarity and gives you the option of 'thru-body? or traditional top-load stringing, EMG pickups, and an EMG Active BTS system (master volume, balance and independent bass and treble controls). Schecter basses now come with factory installed Elixir strings for tone and long-life. All Schecter Diamond Series Basses are backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Hipshot Bridge
When the strings are run through the body of your instrument as opposed to being held at the back end of the bridge, string pressure is directed downward forcing the saddles into the body. Therefore saddle/ bridge/ body coupling is enhanced, giving you a more snappy tone (good for slapping) and increased clarity (great for drop tuning and distorted bass tones). The Hipshot 'A' bridge are available with the string through and top loading features combined so that you can run some strings though the body or from the back of the bridge for maximum tonal adjustment and variations (for example; you may want to run your bass strings though the body while running you treble strings from the back of the bridge.)
