Samson Airline 77 UHF TD Wireless with QV10E Headset Transmitter

No longer available at zZounds
No beltpacks, no cables! Ideal for active presenters, the Samson Airline 77 UHF TD wireless system comes with an ultra-comfortable QV10E headset transmitter.

The Samson AirLine 77 is a wireless vocal microphone system that functions totally free of belt-packs and wires -- making it one of the lightest and most unobtrusive wireless microphones on the market today. It feels fantastic in performance, as the lightweight QV headset allows you to move around totally unencumbered. The transmitter is attached to a headstrap. The strap then goes on around the back of your head, making it maximally secure when you're wearing it. It also keeps you maximally comfortable -- especially crucial when you're wearing it for long periods of time. And it will give you 14 hours of operation on a single lightweight AAA battery!

High-Quality AirLine CR77 UHF Receiver

The Samson AH1 wireless transmitter built into the QV Headset works in conjunction with the AirLine CR77 receiver -- the same true-diversity half-rack UHF receiver that works seamlessly with any other AirLine UHF transmitters and microphones. The CR77 has an attractive front panel display with audio signal level and RF level LED meters that remain easy to read even in low-light situations. A single large and conveniently placed rotary volume knob allows for easy adjustment of your output signal on-the-fly. Two CR77 receivers can be rack mounted side-by-side in a 1RU space, with an optional rack adapter accessory.

Active Signal Maintenance

The CR77 receiver's onboard PLL frequency control circuitry keeps the signal locked and true between transmitter and receiver. This ensures no read more latency issues or phase discrepancies. Two tuned molded antennas with LEDs monitor the true-diversity operation.

Outputs for Any Type of Mixer

The receiver's rear panel has balanced XLR and unbalanced 1/4-inch outputs.

Everyone Deserves To Be Free

With the Samson AirLine 77 wireless system, musicians, educators, and public speakers can deliver vocals totally hands-free, without any physical encumberment whatsoever. And the QV headset's hypercardioid condenser microphone produces a full-range sound with plenty of definition for speaking or singing.

Samson Airline 77 UHF Headset (QV10E)

Part of Samson's AirLine series of wireless microphones, the AirLine 77 features a micro-technology transmitter built right into the headset. Traditional wireless systems include belt-packs and wires that hinder the performer. With AirLine, you get a true wireless system because there are no belt-packs and no cables, allowing the user complete freedom.

The AirLine headset transmitters feature the Samson QV Vocal microphone elements. QV headsets were designed to go around the back of your head rather than over the top. This allows the transmitter to be attached directly to the headband, out of the way and completely unobtrusive, while being comfortable and secure during performances or exercise routines.

All of the AirLine transmitters operate on inexpensive and lightweight AAA batteries that offer 14 hours of operation on a single battery.

The CR77 true-diversity half-rack UHF receiver works flawlessly with all AirLine UHF transmitters. The CR77 receiver features a front panel display with large multi-segment audio level and RF level LED meters, and a large rotary volume knob allows easy adjustment of audio output. The synthesized PLL frequency control circuitry keeps the signal locked and true while dual tuned molded antennas with LEDs monitor the true-diversity operation. The rear panel features balanced XLR and un-balanced 1/4-inch outputs allowing flexible connection options. Two CR77 receivers can be rack mounted together in a single space rack adapter available as an added accessory.

CR77 Receiver

The heart of AirLine 77 is the CR77 Receiver. This true-diversity half-rack unit with PLL frequency control works with all of the Airline transmitters. Rugged, durable and crystal clear with incredible range. UHF (Ultra High Frequency) means clearer frequencies with less interference.

AH1 Headset Transmitter and QV Mic Element

For on stage performance, public speaking, DJs, health club applications. Samson makes a comfortable, lightweight headset mic with no belt pack. Designed with music performance in mind, the QV mic element offers the highest performance level attainable from an element of this size and type.

The QV headset mic allows drummers, keyboardists and other musicians to perform "hands free" vocals without affecting their playing technique. It produces a full-range sound with a enough definition to ensure that every word is heard clearly, even at higher volume levels.

"Great mic for fitness instructors"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

I imagine my experience with this purchase will be the same as my last. I was very satisfied with every aspect of this mic and would replace it with the same product unless I found something else with the same quality and features that was cheaper or that was improved in some tangible way.

Sound
I am a Jazzercise instructor and have used this mic for 6 years strait for 8 to 10 hours per week. I have had lots of experience with different types and brands of mics and this one lasted the longest and had the best sound quality by far. The mic has finally died, which is totally understandable considering how much sweat gets in it on a daily basis. I've never had a mic last this long. So now I am purchasing another one exactly like it. If you are used to using a wireless with a belt pack or clip this one may feel funny on your head at first, but it is adjustable and definitely worth the effort to get used to. And the fact that it uses AAA batteries rather than 9 volt like some has saved me a ton of money.

Features
The mic had a clear plastic cover which I believe prolonged it's life. It kept sweat out of the battery compartment.

Ease of Use
It adjusted automatically and I never really had to do anything. Toward the end I had to adjust the squelch control to squeeze a little more life out of it and it was nice that it was easily accessible. There was no learning curve with using this, read more but I have lots of sound system and mic experience.

Quality
I guess I should mention that the rubber on the adjustable head strap broke after a year or so, but I was able to just squeeze it to make it tight and it was fine. Other than that nothing went wrong with it ever.

Value
Very reasonable for it's quality.

Manufacturer Support
I have not had to.

The Wow Factor
The fact that it doesn't have a belt pack is the biggest selling point for me. And that it uses AAA batteries. The only thing that would make it better would be if it were rechargeable and didn't use batteries at all.
