Samson Servo 120 Amp Customer Review

I have used my first servo 120 for like a year and a half now with no problem on a set of Tannoy nearfields. I had a failure on my sun amp and just bought another Servo 120. Perfectly quiet in my studio. (no fans) And 2 of them are WAY loud ;). I record all styles but listen to heavy metal myself. Great deal not much rack space. Extremely clean sound And they don't get hot with those huge heat sinks.

"Incredible bang for the buck"

I purchased one of these as a console monitor amp. But with the clean clear sound and the suprising power, I use it for floor monitors and I am purchasing another one.

Description

When you're looking for a power amp, you want the strong, silent type. That's Samson - a lot of power without a lot of noise. The Servo120 is a one-rackspace, servo-controlled power amplifier that's ideal for powering reference monitors. It also has a headphone jack with a speaker-disable switch, so you can record or work on your mixes all night long without losing your lease!

But just because it's the perfect reference amp for a project studio doesn't mean that's all you can do with it - the Servo120 is also a perfect fit for live sound and home theater situations.

Whatever the application, the 120's bipolar design and toroidal transformer power supply ensure reliability and quiet performance. You've got 60 watts per channel with individual Left and Right level controls. 5-segment, 3-color LEDs let you know the levels are right. The frequency response is wide and flat, for accurate sound reproduction. And the Servo 120 is convection cooled, which means no fan to make noise or break down.
