Samson Resolv 65a Active Studio Monitors

No longer available at zZounds
Ported. Active crossover.

The Resolv65a active monitors sound full and balanced with an uncompromised transparent midrange, leaving room to accurately mix vocals, snare hits and reverb trails. The Resolv65a features 6.5 in. copolymer butyl surround Woofer, a 1 in. titanium diaphragm, neodimium magnet with ferro-fluid cooled tweeter and gold plated binding posts all mounted in a ported tuned cabinet. In addition, the Resolv65a utilizes a midrange contour control. In the nominal position, the Resolv monitors are clinically accurate, but by dialing in the control, you can tailor the frequency response from hi-fi to an aggressive midrange, emulating some of the classic near field monitors.

Each unit is powered by a dual power amp, (75 watts low and 25 watts high) perfectly matched to the drivers. The active crossover allows precise control of the crossover frequency.

"Great value and quite reliable."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars

I'll keep these until I blow them or need more power..which I don't foresee happening.
Sound
These sounds great to my ears although I'm probably using them in the worst possible config (staged on top of my bass amp using only the rubber feet to isolate them and they are right next to eachother in parallel)
Features
I like the multiple ways to connect (Balanced XLR, 1/4" and line). As well as the ability to adjust the mids.
Quality
Made like a tank. My only complaint is that the cabinet is so hard that screwing in the rubber feet was a blister inspiring event. Pre-Drilled pilot holes would have been nice.
Value
Great value. I was looking at Mackies, etc and the guys at the music shop I go to suggested these. It took him throwing in a pair of 25' XLR cables to close the deal but I would have been happy without the freebies.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't had to deal with support. To me that is a testament to their quality.
The Wow Factor
Hey, the blue LED is cool yet simple.
