What's special about this item?

Feature: What it does:
Korina body Very warm, lively, and balanced tonewood
Maple top Long sustain with crisp, bright tone
Rosewood fretboard Open, warm tone and smooth playing feel
Custom P-90 pickup Clear, open tone with creamy midrange

The Reverend Airwave 12 has retro styling without the retro issues. The bridge is fully intonateable for all 12 strings -- independently -- chords are always in tune and sound sweeter than you expect. The wide nut provides spacing for the extra strings, and the shorter 24-3/4" scale length provides lower string tension. Easier chording means it's easier to play. The extended upper body horn balances the guitar. The five-piece Korina and Walnut neck are strong enough to withstand the pressure of twelve strings. That, along with the twelve Reverend Pin-Lock Tuners, provides excellent tuning stability.

Features:

24 3/4" SCALE LENGTH
A shorter scale provides lower string tension, which allows for easier chording.

FIVE PIECE KORINA/WALNUT NECK
Extra strong and stable to withstand the pressure of twelve strings, yet light weight.

WIDE GRAPHITE NUT
The 1 3/4" nut provides proper spacing for extra strings, making it easier to play. We use a graphite impregnated nut on all Reverend instruments. Graphite reduces friction, allowing the strings to easily slide through the nut slots, improving tuning stability.

FULLY INTONATABLE BRIDGE
This allows independent intonation for each string, so chords are in tune and sound sweeter.

CUSTOM PICKUPS
Reverend designs proprietary custom pickups, to achieve the best tonal match with our instruments. Reverend pickups are also specifically designed for each position, for balanced volume and tone when switching.

KORINA BODY
Korina (aka White read more Limba) is a medium-light weight wood, highly prized for consistency and tonal qualities. Often found in boutique and vintage instruments, all Reverends feature Korina bodies. A highly resonant wood, Korina is a key factor to producing lively, responsive instruments that are rich in harmonics.

BASS CONTOUR
This passive bass roll-off is great for tightening up the low end, or re-voicing the pickups. It can make a humbucker sound like a single-coil, or give a P-90 that classic twang. Variable pickup voicing at your fingertips!

PIN-LOCK TUNERS
A thumbwheel under the tuner pushes a steel pin up through the post, locking the string in place for exceptional tuning stability and super-fast string changes.

DUAL-ACTION TRUSS ROD
The dual action rod adjusts in both directions, allowing back bow or forward bow. This assures correct adjustment range is possible regardless of string tension, extreme climate conditions, or the effects of long-term aging. It's also located at the headstock for easy access.

I purchased my first 12 string in 1968 - a Guild F212 acoustic. I immediately fell in love with the instrument. Since then I've bought, sold, traded, had stolen and kept dozens of 12 strings. I have owned Gibson, Gretsch, Rickenbacker, Epiphone, Taylor and numerous other electric 12s over the years. My new Reverend Airwave is AMAZING! Straight out of the box it is the most comfortably playing and set up electric guitar I have ever purchased. I played for 3 hours the first day - I just couldn't put it down. The build quality, finish and sound are in my opinion several steps ahead of any competition. This guitar outperforms Gibson and Rickenbackers I own costing 3 to 4 times as much. I HAVE BEEN CONVERTED BY THE REVEREND! I plan on purchasing another Airwave for alternate tunings. Hat's off to zZounds for having the foresight to stock and promote one of the best Musical Values in the industry. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK REVEREND
