Use this pedal as either a volume pedal or an expression pedal. It features a variety of processors and MIDI controllable equipment.

For years, guitar players have asked Rocktron to recommend volume pedals and expression pedals. Now, Rocktron answers with their own, very affordable, yet professional pedal! Rocktron's HEX is a multi-function pedal that can be used both as a volume pedal and as an expression pedal with a large variety of processors and MIDI controllable equipment. The design of the pedal allows you to use a simple stereo to stereo cable for expression connection, minimizing cable use on stage.

An adjustable rocker tension screw allows you to adjust the pedal action for a lighter or heavier "touch".

The expression jack accepts a 1/4 inch stereo TRS cable and lets you plug into the expression port in your MIDI footcontroller or your expression port in your MIDI controllable device and thus operate the HEX as a MIDI expression pedal.

Use the input and output jacks to function as a standard volume pedal. The output jack accepts a standard guitar cable and lets you plug the HEX output into the next effect in your effect chain or directly into the input of your guitar amplifier.

"uneven swells...."

I bought this thing to use at the end of my effects chain to get smooth volume swells without changing my distortion level. It is definitely NOT SMOOTH. Ive had better sound with a $20 expression pedal that lasted me 10 years. Although the main reason I chose THIS pedal is because of the way it is built. It is a tank. Very tough and should last forever. I'm sure I can replace the pot myself with a higher quality one for what it would cost to return it and that is what I intend to do. SO... it my take a little modification but it should be well worth it after that.
