Make your guitar talk! The Rocktron Banshee 2 expands on the original talkbox with an effects loop and bypass output to send dry signal through to your amp.

From Rocktron, arguably the industry's top talkbox maker, comes the Rocktron Banshee 2 -- a talkbox that improves upon Rocktron's original model while giving musicians a plethora of innovative features to help integrate this pedal into any setup. Guitarists and keyboardists alike will value its ease of use, gain/tone control and effect management. You've heard everyone from Roger Troutman to Peter Frampton popularize the effect -- now experiment on your own to create wild, original sounds!

Easy to Get Talkin'

Unlike older talkboxes, the Banshee 2 behaves much like a stompbox effect pedal. Its internal preamp, amplifier and horn driver are built in, eliminating the potential electrical or equipment dangers of yesteryear. Plug the provided 9VAC adapter to the wall, feed an instrument in to the unit's input, run the provided tubing up your mic stand to your mouth! The active LED illuminates when the effect is engaged as a nice visual indicator.

Innovative Controls and Customized Sounds

Thanks to the effect loop send/return and speaker cabinet output, it's easy to add the Rocktron Banshee 2 to your signal chain, no matter what your setup is. A dedicated gain control allows you to dial in clean, natural signal -- or overdrive it into distortion land, all with the spin of a knob. Rocktron's tone control allows for fine-tuned clarity, while the output pot acts as a master volume.

Two Outputs Plus an Effects Loop

The Banshee 2 has two output jacks -- a "To Amp" 1/4" read more output that sends your "dry" guitar signal through to your amp, and an "External Speaker" 1/4" output that feeds your "wet" effected signal through to your PA. You can also mute the Amp output at any time with the pedal's Active/Mute button, so you can amplify dry, wet or combined signals at any given time. And then there's the built-in, switchable effects loop, allowing you to add distortion, delay, or anything else you can dream up into the talkbox's signal path.

Rugged Construction -- Built to Last

The Banshee 2, like the original Banshee, comes housed in durable metal casing from top to bottom -- built like a tank. Whether it's used in-studio or dragged through grueling gigs, the Banshee 2 can hold up to most conditions. The provided tubing can be a bit rigid, but carefully dipping it in hot water for a few moments will make it much more malleable.

- Rocktron Banshee 2 talkbox pedal with effects loop and dual outputs
- LED indicator
- 1/4" instrument input jack

Rocktron Banshee 2 Talk Box Pedal

The Rocktron Banshee 2 talkbox has arrived, and changed the playing field. Now Rocktron lets you choose between the Original Banshee Talkbox, or the Banshee 2 with exciting features... players begged Rocktron for a talkbox with more features, and here it is. The Banshee 2 gives you the ability to let the guitar signal feed your amplifier at the same time that the talkbox effect is turned on. This way you get your normal guitar signal through your amp while the talkbox effect runs through a mic (and your sound system).

Rocktron has brought an exciting dimension to the talkbox with the Banshee 2 by providing an effects loop which now lets you add other effects into the talkbox signal path, or through your guitar signal path at the same time. These features allow you to get some wild sounds never before done with a talkbox. They've also added an active LED to tell you when the Banshee 2 effect is engaged.

The original Banshee has served countless players over the years with a modern version of the talkbox. You've heard a talkbox used on many famous recordings, from classic rock (Aerosmith, Joe Walsh, Peter Frampton) to contemporary rock (Bon Jovi, Disturbed) to hip hop recordings and more.

How To

The Banshee models provide easy setup (unlike vintage style talkboxes which are cumbersome to hook up and can potentially damage your gear by blowing up your amp head). What makes the Banshees so unique is the included internal preamp, amplifier, and horn driver. Simply plug into the Banshee as you would any common stomp box, and run the provided "tubing" up the mic stand and into your mouth. The rest is up to your imagination as you get the most incredible sounds from your instrument (guitar or keyboard).

The Banshee's preamp section features controls for gain, tone, and output level. A wide range of clean and dirty preamp tones may be dialed in with plenty of saturation for those who desire lots of gain.

Guitar World Magazine wrote: "The Banshee's high-gain preamp and focused tone control allow for excellent enunciation and sustain. With minimal practice, I was able to create clear words and open vowels, and I could readily see how anyone could become addicted to this effect." Not only does the Banshee scream in the talkbox mode, but Rocktron has also included an extra jack for hookup with an extension pedal speaker. Plugging a speaker cabinet to this output turns your pedal board into a perfect practice setup with enough volume to do some pretty serious cranking.

Get your hands on the most unique product in years and let your creative juices flow. Or as Guitar World Magazine put it: "With a simple design and arena-worthy performance at a cool price, this Banshee is sure to send you screaming into the night."

I was always skeptical about getting a talk box because of the process it took to run the older ones. Let's face it, for someone like myself who plays local clubs etc, it's just not sensible to lug around anymore equipment then need be. I did my homework on this unit and read and watched several reviews and decided to give it a try. The result...................great decision!

Sound
I've read some other reviews that stated they weren't able to achieve certain sounds from this talk box. I've had no problem imitating those famous talk box songs. It just takes a little practice learning to mouth the sounds you're looking for.

Features
There were two features about this talk box that made it an easy sell. The first feature that impressed me was the pre-amp, this keeps you from having to set up additional equipment and makes life simple. The second was the fact that you have the choice to either have your guitar signal cut from your amp while using the talk box or you can have the signal continue through to your amp while using the talk box.

Ease of Use
This talk box is simple to use. The only limitation you'll have is your own imagination.

Quality
Seems very tough and I haven't had any problems with the quality.

Value
No brainer, it's a definitely worth the price, you wont be disappointed.

Haven't had any problems to date.

The Wow Factor
You wont catch me saying this product is sexy or something like that. Here's the real Wow factor. When you're playing live you just know people are wondering what the heck that tube is running up your mic stand and the first time you use the talk box people automatically go nuts, and why wouldn't? It's an awesome effect, it gets 'em everytime.
