Description
The Roland V-drums are the most popular electronic drum systems in the world - and with good reason. No other electronic drum set can rival the V-drums ultra-sensitive mesh-head triggering, COSM-based drum editing, and amazing sound quality. Now, Roland is pleased to announce the next generation of V-drums: the flagship V-Session Set with new V-Cymbals, and the stylish new V-Concert Set.

The flagship V-Session Set gives drummers over 1,000 unique sounds with enhanced dynamics and sensitivity, powerful COSM drum modeling, onboard effects, and an intuitive, icon-based user interface. A sleek new Metallic Red color, improved hardware, and incredibly dynamic new V-Cymbals make this the most powerful and complete V-drums system ever.

Features
TD-10 Percussion Sound Module with TDW-1 Wave and System Expansion Board, yielding over 1,000 high-quality sounds with enhanced dynamics, extensive COSM drum modeling, plus new V-Cymbal Control.

3 x PD-120RD 12 in. Red dual-trigger mesh V-pads for snare and floor toms.

2 x PD-100RD 10 in. Red single-trigger mesh V-pads for rack toms.

2 x CY-14C 14 in. V-Cymbal Crash with natural cymbal inertia and choke capabilities and dual-positional sensing (edge and bow).

1 x CY-15R 15 in. V-Cymbal Ride with natural cymbal inertia, simultaneous 3-way-triggering (edge, bow, bell), and positional sensing.

1 x CY-12H 12 in. dual-trigger V-Cymbal for hi-hat.

1 x FD-7 Hi-Hat Control Pedal for realistic hi-hat control from closed to open.

1 x KD-120RD 12 in. Red V-kick pad for fast, natural kick drum triggering using standard kick drum pedal.

V-Session Stand in Red Metallic; stronger and newly designed drum hardware.

As the most powerful and complete V-drums set to date, the V-Session Set is based upon the TD-10 Percussion Sound Module and TDW-1 Wave and System Expansion Board with V-Cymbal Control, giving drummers over 1,000 unique sounds with enhanced dynamics and sensitivity, not to mention the powerful COSM drum modeling, onboard effects, and icon-based user interface which have made the V-drums so popular. While drummers will immediately notice the V-Session's sleek new Metallic Red color, improved hardware, and incredibly dynamic new V-Cymbals, also noteworthy is the V-Session's inclusion of a KD-120 V-kick pad.

Included with the V-Session Set are Roland's new V-Cymbals: Crash, Ride, and Hi-Hat. These are the world's first electronic cymbals that can accurately emulate the inertia of real acoustic cymbals, "swinging" and responding to cymbal "chokes" as a drummer plays. And the increased playing realism is mirrored in the sound: Both the Hi-Hat and the Crash offer dual-triggering and increased dynamics, while the Ride cymbal actually offers 3-way-triggering (edge/bow/bell) and Positional Sensing capabilities on the bow of the cymbal - just like an acoustic ride!

For over 3 years, the V-drums V-Pro Set has represented the state-of-the-art in electronic drum systems. It's little wonder why: the combination of a COSM modeling-based sound engine, onboard effects, an icon-based user interface, and innovative mesh-head V-pads has made this set an irresistible package for professionals and serious drummers at all levels. With the arrival of the new V-Concert Set, the V-Pro Set gets a purple stand and V-pads, plus stronger and more convenient drum hardware. Put it all together, and you have an accessible new V-drums set worthy of an encore.

"Big boy toy! Coolest thing a drummer can buy themselves"
I am a hobbiest drummer who is in their mid 40's and played in my 20's, and again now in my 40's (after the kids grew up). I jam with some friends 1x a week, and found that I could never get in enough practice due to the noise levels of my Slingerland 9 pc (a killer set-up with 7 zildjians etc). So I had some money to burn and bought this kit over the internet, have had it about 1 1/2 weeks and am blown away with it's sound and versatility. I am playing them through some older ALTEC LANSING cabinets (15's with horn array tweeters), and the sound is just incredible. I have only jammed once since getting them, but the other guys think it's great. We were able to bring the decibel level down in the room and really balance the sound between guitars and drums and bass. I am yet to discover all its capabilities, but I am looking forward to it every day. Now I can play at midnight and not wake the family (screw the neighbors!).

"It's worth it!"
Feature:
Not a knock on the kit, however, I think that for the price you should get everything you need for the kit. When I found out that I had to buy a snare stand, kick pedal and throne on top of the kit, I was a bit dissappointed.

Quality:
I have been playing my kit for almost a year and have had NO problems. Not even had to adjust the head tension.... (knok on wood)

Value:
Most people rate the value low, however, if you compare to top conventional ket, say a DW kit, they are in the same range and you get tons of other stuff/sounds/versitility with this kit. I had a hard time writing the check... but think the price is in line.

Desirability:
There is absolutely no other electronic kit that looks this good!

Sound:
Unbelievable---- If you think it sounds good live, try recording direct. Playback sounds like someone spent hundreds of hours in a studio to get the perfect sound.

Support:
Have not had to use any Roland support as yet....

Overall:
The only thig that would entise me to get rid of this kit would be the "next generation" bigger and better kits from roland.
