The Roland TD-4K2 is the most affordable drum kit in the V-Compact series. The V-Drums family is undergoing new upgrades and refinements with a new Kick Pad and V-Cymbals(R). With its improved playability, the new kits help you maximize your performance and practice time. Get better faster with the built-in Coach and Quick Rec/Play function.

Roland TD-4K2 V-Compact Features

- The most compact and affordable V-Drums, featuring a mesh-head snare (PDX-8) and a cloth-head Kick Pad (KD-9)
- Authentic percussion instruments onboard the TD-4 sound module
- Dual-trigger cymbal pad for crash and ride (CY-8)

The TD-4K2 components are packaged in two boxes as follows:

Overall: This set sounds amazing and has everything that I am looking for to practice, improve, and record a range of good drum sounds. The recording feature is a huge asset for instantly listening to beats and fill and is a great practice and songwriting tool. I am very happy with this purchase.

Overall: I purchased the TD-3 kit in '08--and can tell you the TD4 has some great improvements. The newly designed kit stand and cymbal tilt back boom type cymbal stands are very functional and great looking. The drum module has a modest selection of preset kits that have a much cleaner sound than the previous TD-3 module. The 25 pin connection may have something to do with it, beware though as no other maker's drum module that my limited research shows me makes a module with a 25 pin connection--if your looking to upgrade later on, you would need to purchase the drum pad trigger harness to match a new module. Sturdy construction and no triggering issues. Plenty of room to customize the preset & custom kits with muffling & tuning on the fly (remember the old Oberheim DX drum machines & the ability to tune the drums up or down w/ the twist of a knob?). Lots of drums to build you own kits--improved percussion and cymbals!!!! The changes you make are saved when you shut down. I like the LCD screen, new control systems and overall layout. After rebate this kit is only $660 and some change delivered!!! The TD3 4 years earlier was $960 total (that included a 15% off store coupon). This is a good deal!!! Super service from zZounds--I'm in Phoenix, AZ and it shipped from NV and arrived in 3 days. Awesome!!! Roland IMHO is the best (deal) in electronic drums!!!! Peace.
