Feature:
The only feature I would have liked are the built in speakers which Yamaha provides with the CP300. I'm still learning all of the GX capabilities, but the initial features which really stand out include: - ivory-like keyboard (make playing a true joy) - expanded tones - multiple outputs - USB 2.0 interface... (really enjoying this) - sound tailoring capabilities

Sound:
I recently upgrade from a RD-700 (which I expanded with the SRX-03, SRX-11 cards). I'll write the following review in layman's terms...rather than using the fancy industry terms like "escapement, polyphony, switching velocity...etc.). Secondly, I don't consider myself a keyboard aficionado in comparison to those who play keyboard for a living... however I believe I have reasonably distinguishing sense of sound quality. While the RD-700 was & is a great stage piano, the RD-700GX takes the sound quality to a whole new dimension. I've played the GX through both my PA system & my Yamaha/Klipsh home entertainment system. The sound quality on the grands & EP's is simply stunning. Playing it through my home entertainment system with stereo 5-1 turned gives it an amphitheater like sound. It sounds like you have a grand piano right in the room with you. With the GX,.. you now have more sound design capabilities. In comparison to the RD-700, the RD-700GX sound quality (realism), sustain, and tailoring capabilities make the RD-700GX a great investment for both studio and live performance. The GX sound engine produces very realistic sound samples. The electronic pianos are very nice as well. While I used two SRX expansion cards in my RD700... I have no near term intentions of buying any SRX cards for the GX... for my applications... they're not needed with the GX's base capabilities.

Ok... After buying/selling almost 10 guitars,... I recently purchased my Martin D-41 Special guitar... (done buying acoustic guitars)..... and now after buying the RD-700GX.... I'm done buying keyboards... (I've found the one I've always wanted).

"The RD-700GX, Roland's new flagship stage piano."
Feature:
It comes with an excellent piano style damper pedal. The half-damper effect can be used with this pedal. It sends cc values from 1-127 so you can sound like real pro when playing the piano sounds.
Quality:
The RD-700GX is made very well. It's keys are the most realistic and make this keyboard worth every penny. I think this board will last 10 years or more based on it's finish and high quality craftsmanship.
Value:
It's well worth the price.
Desirability:
It feels great. The touch is just like a steinway or bosendorfer piano. It's black and built to last. The display is easy to see in dark or dimly lit situations.
Sound:
I think the sounds are awesome. Especially the synths and pads. Very expressive grands are a big part of this board. The internal sounds are customizable and adaptable to every genre of music you can imagine.
Ease of Use:
Getting around on the RD is simple. Just turn it on and push the buttons. The manual is not necessary but, if you'd like to learn about some of the advanced midi and MP3 capabilities then read it.

I know several reps from the company, so I stay in touch with them on a regular basis.

I am using this keyboard in my pro rig. I am a pro-keyboardist playing 3-4 nights a week in bands, trios and duos. I have used this board for 2 months in several different situations and it has outperformed itself.
